Like I said...I'm gonna cut out the bottom of post and slide bottom plate under it. The post will rest on it...

I would have either completely removed the rail or relocated the corner post out of the wall. At the very least I would cut the railing back to the point that I could attach (L bracket) it to the exterior finish.

Goof's house looks like it's ready to take flight with the slightest gust of wind. Maybe you should try getting some rope and tying that roof down to that nearby tree.

I would also cut out the siding on the wall where your going to be attaching this new wall too, to give a flat surface to nail to and
