war of the worlds - 7/10

I liked it for the popcorn muncher, but I would have preferred an ending where the aliens fuck up the planet.

Plus in 6 years I would prolly hit dakota fanning :paranoid:

It was true to the novel (apart from that cheesy family reunion), hence the ending.

16 Blocks

Bruce Willis flick. Reminders of Eastwood in Gauntlet, but diffrent. Bruce looked old and alkie, just like the charector he acted.

Worth a look.

It was more than derivative - it was a rip off an older movie.

(haven't seen either, and haven't heard updates on this issue)

lol reads like an ad:
1979's "Clonus," aka "Parts: The Clonus Horror" available on DVD from Mondo Macabro, $19.95..
also, it's been over a year and i can't find anything regarding an injunction. i certainly agree with the Logan's Run ripoff though - and it was a better movie.

Miami Vice: 6/10. I wasn't bored, but I wasn't impressed either. No characters to speak of and a cookie cutter story. Gorgeous cinematography and a capable job by the two leads. Too bad they didn't have a better script to work from. I'm a big Michael Mann fan, so this was a bit of a disappointment.

i dissagree... i gave it 6/10
just barely above average.
no where near the calliber of the original. (yes comparisons must be made, a sequal has to live up to the original material)

they used actors from other movies in new roles which is counter to the storyline that has continued over muliple movies.
there was so much opportunity and setup for jokes that just never happened.

the jokes that worked were fantastic... which kept the movie's head above water. however the weak performances and overall themes of love and friendship was a bit too happy scrappy hero pup for my taste.

kevin smith has proved the fact once again... once you have a family, the person you were is dead.
(so far dave chapelle is the only exception to this rule i've seen)
