The beginning situation was Walt had cancer and wanted to leave his family with money. Shit happens. Fast forward to the last episode, Walt has a ton of money and by the scans it seems the cancer may be back. I've been hoping for a climactic ending, but is it possible that the cancer gets Walt, but he succeeds in his goal of leaving his family well off?
Early in the series this might have been noble, but at this point in the series we would be left with a large moral dilemma. He set up his family, but was the wake of death he left worth that?
It's a reasonable assumption.
However the series creators were very clear that they wanted to turn the protagonist into the antagonist, so it probably won't come to pass that Walt does anything "good".

it gets better. Good time to start watching too, you should watch it slow so you can finish with the series in a few months here

am about halfway thru season 2, the bit where evil Walt is starting to manifest himself
damn it's good to have yet another great US show to watch. i've been getting by on walking dead, homeland and fringe for the last 6 months. they're pretty good shows, but not quite stratospheric

Fringe was good first 2 seasons. I don't know what happened after that, it got pretty lost-rific and I stopped watching.

Yeah, watching this fifth season of Fringe has really become a chore.
I invested too much time now to abort though, so I'm commited to sticking it out.
Seems like the writers were pressured to quickly wrap things up, and the elements that attracted me to the series are now mostly neglected.
After initially giving up on Homeland after two episodes, mainly because I found Claire Danes' character fucking insufferable, I gave it a second chance and find it enjoyable.
Lots of suspension of disbelieve required though, especially Brody's miraculous promotions from POW-to senator-to vice president candidate, enabling him to sit in on high profile spec ops monitoring etc.

Jumping into the future on a whim did make me a little less invested. But you can't say that Peter becoming an observer is a chore to watch now.

Yeah, Peter getting his observer neck implant is probably the solution to everyting.
Poop tee doo, sabotage everything "observer" because Peter is obviously more powerful in mind powering, lah dee dah.
Then Henrietta is brought back to life, for happy endage, and we can all say: fuck you, fringe, for leading us nowhere.
