Oh fuck, he's falling off a 300 ft cliff! Oh wait, he's just rolling down a hill. Oh shit, he's spitting blood and his femur is poking out. Well fuck...

Be glad he lasted this long. In the original, he was already dead half a book ago.

What a disappointing scene though. In the books, his bowels explode out of his body by the force of the crossbow bolt and Tyrion thinks to himself that Tywin Lannister doesn't shit gold after all.

The thought of having to wait a whole year for season 5 is kind of crappy.

9 months

And once again, we don't care about what happened in the books as opposed to the show...

Gutted about the Hound - Tyrion is a legend and Arya is a mean bitch

Wonder what the Red Witch has in store for Jon Snow

I was right. He can move anywhere around King's Landing he wants and pop out of a hole in the ground with a crossbow.

A crossbow almost as tall as himself, no less!

Goddamnit, what the fuck? Stop with the book shit already. In a show like this, I have learned to expect the unexpected. It was totally plausible that he could somehow survive that fight, but you just shit all over that by telling me he was already a goner in the book. Being left to die was just asking to lead to a you-should-have-killed-me-when-you-had-the-chance moment in season 6, so fuck your book comparisons in this thread.

The Mountain looked like a goner at first, too, but I was pleasantly surprised to see that necrophiliac dude pumping him full of zombie juice. Now I know his brother will never get his revenge. RIP Hound, I will light a candle in your honor. Even though you'd be afraid of it. :tear:

Oh, like that. Well, for what it's worth, he was left to die in the books as well, exactly like in the TV show. So there, spoiler undone

I guess I don't understand. We have asked repeatedly, repeatedly, repeatedly not to mention the books in this thread. And yet here we are again. It's just a simple courtesy. It actually takes less effort not to mention the books. We get it, you can read, now shut the fuck up about it...

I almost responded to this, but realised even commenting could potentially spoil things, so didn't.

But things are diverging from the books quite a lot now, so it's getting even more fun. I would argue that book readers are beginning to think all bets are off and that the TV series is a different story in its own right.

I won't say what, but there have been quite a few things in the past couple of episodes that have made me go "Woah, wasn't expecting THAT!".
And that's cool. After all, having the entire thing be predictable would mean I'd have no reason to watch it.
And to be frank, it would have all been substantially duller following the Red Wedding if it had followed the books exactly. Dance With Dragons in particular contained a substantial amount of filler, and was quite a slog to get through.

The funny thing here is that everyone is doing their utmost best to uphold the belief that something has been spoiled, while in reality, nothing has been spoiled at all. It's hilarious to see how everyone jerks into this spasm to hold on to the idea of being a spoiler victim. Really, you should take a step back and let the irony of the situation dawn on you. You'll see how funny it is.
