What a nerd if that were to be true!
You misread, sock *eats* laptops at lunchbreaks. What else would you do with one at lunch except eat it?

that explains why sock is so jaundiced

nerd
–noun Slang.
1. a stupid, irritating, ineffectual, or unattractive person.
2. an intelligent but single-minded person obsessed with a nonsocial hobby or pursuit: a computer nerd.
I think anyone who spends some time working as a Level Designer (job/hobby) has to have some nerd tendencies otherwise they would never get over the initial hurdle of learning the editor. I am sure it could be said that people that hang out in a mapping forum for a 8 year old game are geeks as well!
geek Slang.
–noun
1. a peculiar or otherwise dislikable person, esp. one who is perceived to be overly intellectual.
2. a computer expert or enthusiast (a term of pride as self-reference, but often considered offensive when used by outsiders.)
3. a carnival performer who performs sensationally morbid or disgusting acts, as biting off the head of a live chicken.

Love that second screenie WHAT!, very smooth and looks to be a pretty fast moving map.

It's the fastest map I think anyone has ever played for warsow CA. Warsow has wall jumps so you can rocket wall jump. Which makes for EXTREMELY fast gameplay. It makes every quake so far look slower than molasses on a cold day.

Just finished up the grenades. Not much else to say really, they are grenades! How much info do you need on pineapples these days? To cook the grenade simply hold the red button on the top, serve with a little chicken, and you have a perfect gib sandwich:

Nit-pick, but shouldn't there be a safety pin or other mechanism on that thing - in case someone fumbles and it lands on the ground, red-button side down?

Nah, its the future. Its more fun when things dont have a safety

Maybe the red button as two levels of clickage.
First click = armed.
Pressed further into grenade (second click) = start cooking
Press again to pop button out to disarm.

New map using Hipshots stuff again. A smaller 2 vs 2 map.
Totally a rip off of the style in "solar", but it's honestly my favorite looking quake 3 map in quite some time. I

hipshots work to death.

What's left of the ceiling above those arched doors feels a bit thin.

WHAT!!, you produce some solid stuff, but something is KILLING those shots for me... This is GAME BREAKING STUFF!!!!
Please cycle the texture on the broken floor tiles so that they are all random in that first pic!
Great shots though!

In the 2nd screenshot? I'm kind of building things upwards. More will go on top so it doesn't seem like you could step through the roof with a hard thrust of the foot.
I'm not sure what you mean by "breaking stuff"....?
edit: I am assuming you meant it would be too much for the computer to work out considering the engine is fairly dated so I booted it up an old computer of mine (2.0 ghz amd 1 gig of ram onboard video) and it still ran around 75 fps on fairly decent settings.

o'dium means that the tiles pieces that are broken off all have the same texture alignment... no variety so not as convincing

Yeah, exactly. Its not going o hurt it at all, but my eyes have been trained to anything that looks odd since going into game dev... So I spotted that

Its a very easy fix though, very easy

They make your eyeballs run an obstacle course followed by a five mile hike or something?

All bullshit aside, it has to be said, I envy your modeling/texturing skills o'dium, quality stuff.
Any ETA on that fucker you're working on, though?

didnt even notice the tile thing until it was pointed out. And even then it took me a few seconds to actually get what o'dium was saying.

ATM we have a little snag with the weapons. .md5mesh messes up/ignores the models smoothing groups and uses its own, so the locals are all inneed of being redone

But on the plus side we found it it by doing the animations, and we now have .md5mesh and .md5anim files working great. So, fingers crossed, soon!
