I had thought the server was idiot-proofed with the introduction of the reset button.

You should have seen the explosion though. It was pretty sweet.

Edit: it was around 5k blocks of tnt.

I broke out of my prison btw :)

you can check the status of the server here:

http://mc.quake3world.com/status.php

if the server is up the problem is usually the minecraft user authenticator is down.... out of my control.

Thought I would chime in on the Minecraft thread... haven't posted here in a while. But got into Minecraft via the Shacknews Server. Lets just say we've been busy.

Here is a zoomable google map view of our world currently...

no one is stopping you from using only materials you've mined. it's not like it's a competition or anything. you can still play the game the way you want to play it.

what the fuck? has he made that completely by hand? :dork:

edit:
The Minecraft world uses 1m^3 blocks, ans so, I simply converted my already scaled plans into a format that minecraft could take and imported each deck in batch, leaving 4 spaces in between for walls
no, phew

i am sorry you feel the server is ruined.

the server has evolved into full creative mode because at this time there is no way to fully prevent cheats, and some of us want to use these tools to more quickly build stuff (we don't suffer from a shortage of ideas).

cuboids is a tool like anything else. you can't just create a sphere with it and consider it awesome. you are still going to do most of your work by hand to make it look unique and not cookie-cutter.

people are welcome to use cuboids but it is not enabled by default because it is easily abused.

once the multiplayer game gets cheats patched and more features are added, it will be worthwhile to revisit this issue and we can decide whether to start from scratch again. my guess though is that unless multiplayer is radically redone with a focus on cooperative gameplay (and i don't see this happening anytime soon), people will be too burnt out to rehash the same similar gameplay.

yeah its cool, the game just kinda evolved into something im not that interested in playing. besides, i really should be workin on new stuff in radient anyway. heh it was a fun wee game, and for 20 bucks i got my monies worth. will check back once patches and more game play elements are added...

not a rage quit, just a quit quit :D
