might get it at some point. or not.
right now it looks like another ubi open world game with quasi linear missions and 1700 collectables for you to find.

if anyone finds an above ground pool in the game, then that's GKYs easter egg. heard it here first.

I grabbed that while waiting for the game to pre-load last night. It wasn't enough to keep the game from stuttering while it loaded shit as I drove around. I ran into just about everything possible on my way from point A to B. Between a stuttering framerate from loading assets and the touchy vehicle controls, it's hard to get anywhere without taking out a lamp post or mail box.

Also, guards are fucking stupid as shit. I hacked into a ctOS site in the open world and it was just like any other stealth segment of a game where you need to break line of sight and make distractions in order to win. I charged between two pieces of cover right in front of a guard and he went into 'alert mode' for a second until I ducked behind a barrier in front of him, then he quickly lost interest and all I got was a "What was that noise?" line from him. :miffed:

Maybe I just need to up the difficulty before condemning the AI.

The game clearly got too much hype. Hopefully that equals more sales. Because it's clearly not the graphical, game play juggernaut we were being sold.

I'll play it when it's $9.99 on Steam.

Not only can you not afford that, but your grocery store PC would explode just from installing.

Btw game runs fine for me at 1080p ultra with a 4GB video card. Multiplayer is broken though.

I like the reflections in the windows showing a totally different and empty city.

This game is the disappointment I hoped it wouldn't be.

At the start of this thread, I was genuinely interested in this game. Along the way though, Ubi did pretty much everything to totally destroy any shred of interest I had left. Right now, I don't care the slightest bit about this game anymore.

Fuck, I was looking forward to The Division. I didn't know Ubisoft was the developer. Oh well, so much for next gen. :(

Might be a good idea to link to the originating article and especially point out their conclusion:

Crysis 6 years ago had better graphics and AI than anything "next-gen" today.

And then there was the Reverse Bullshot:

When the game came out last month, many players said that the visuals for the open-world game didn't live up to that original teaser. But now an intrepid modder has found hidden files that improve the way the game looks, right there in Watch Dogs' PC version.
fuck you, Ubisoft.

Yeah, I installed the mod yesterday (just moved two tiny files into the game directory) and the game looks so much better. One modder changes a few lines of code and makes the game look better than a multi-million dollar developer could with a huge team of people.

Fuck Ubisoft indeed.

I can see some legitimate reasons for changing graphics quality, namely if it affects gameplay:
It turns out that the bokeh depth of field of effect – which games have been able to do for a while now – is kind of insane. This is admittedly just a couple seconds after I’ve stopped jogging, but the angle of the camera makes the game think that the player, that phone booth and bin are the most important thing on screen. If something across the road was shooting at me at this point, I wouldn’t be able to see them. I’m Mr. Magoo.
http://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2014/06 ... mod-video/

No doubt that they cranked up all the graphics bells and whistles to sell the game to unrealistic expectations. IMO, the PC release should have the ability for the user to crank up whatever they like up to the quality of the pre-release videos through menu options, then set the defaults to whatever the devs like for best gameplay/performance.
