Nice. Did you end up with a Bosch hammer-drill bit or did you use the tapcons? I've never had any luck with the tapcon bits, they just turn into cheese after a hole or two.

Drilling at high RPM speeds will F up drill bits. Tapcons are an industry standard. Slowing down your bit may help you out.

I used a Bosch bit and it drilled into the concrete with ease....prolly drilled 6 holes in less than 2 minutes... For fun I tried drilling with my regular drill and nothing much happened..

It's kinda funny that one of your concerns is how much it weighs.
Usually people use tools based on purpose.

Meh, I've always drilled at the lowest speed my hammer drill can go. True to the name, hammer-drilling is about hitting the concrete with a hammering motion, not carving the material and ejecting it. A simple inspection of the drill bit tip reveals this. The tapcon just doesn't work well. I don't know if the concrete I was drilling into was especially hard (it's 100 years old, so possibly?) but every time I've tried one, the tip just melts into a piece of shit. Bosch has worked just fine for me. Their bits are probably about 6x more expensive but as long as you're not a fool, you should only ever have to buy each size once.

I'm sure it's in a very developmental stage. Photography would be misleading.
