Well I don't necessarily prescribe to those suggestions and you're not currently conversing with those individuals. If you want to have a reasonable dialog I'm willing to listen. Though I'm sure we're not going to see eye to eye. But if you want to continue the troll I'll understand.

We've had a shooting almost every day in major areas for the last 4 days. Body count I think is 4 or 5 right now. 2 of which were cops that got plugged before they could draw a weapon. Most recent shooting was 2 cars shooting at eachother driving down a main drag of road.
Shits fucking crazy right now. Carrying a weapon makes someone feel safe. And if they do it on the legal, why the fuck not? If a criminal can carry one illegally and get away with DRIVING DOWN A STREET AND SHOOTING UP ANOTHER CAR, why cant I or anyone else carry going through the system?

And its not like I live in fucking compton. Thats the crazy part. Mofos are just straight shooting shit up right now with no regard for anyone.
Not everyone lives on a beach somewhere nice where they dont have to worry about crackheads kicking your front door in for a flat screen. Robberies around here end up with dead people if they are home. We had a close friend come home to people robbing their house, shes now dead. They shot her without any regard for her life. For her flat screen TV and computer. Another neighbor (Keep in mind, In an area where the cheapest house is 250,000 and 4,000 square feet), a few houses down the door was kicked in, They shot the dog, and husband, then stole the TV and nothing else.
Again, Shit is fucking crazy in some places. Theres a place for a gun for home protection. AR-15s arnt it, But A handgun in the night stand isnt exactly a bad thing.
I have no idea why I would even try to get you to understand something like that. But hey, Theres some facts for you. Not everywhere is nice and safe.

Understand I have empathy for the situation. The kiddo got extra hugs and spoiled to shit the next few days after things happened. But when is it finally "ok" to talk about gun control and right to bear arms? How long is it until we can actually address the problem?

Totally. And its in the works. But until then what do you do? Its not easy to pack up a family and move over night, and sometimes the shithole is where the work is. I get you may not understand that as you apparently live in paradise. But some of us are stuck for a bit. If it was just me, sure. But when its more than me theres other things to consider.

Shooting outside an grade school near the girls work.
Shooting up a main drag near stores between 2 cars

A Wentzville man is jailed after allegedly becoming agitated during a barber shop discussion of the Newtown, Conn., shooting and allegedly shooting in the direction of a patron.
Assault, armed criminal action and unlawful possession of a weapon charges were filed against 57-year-old Lester Davis of Wentzville following the shooting Tuesday at All Cuts Barber Shop in Wentzville.
A patron made the comment that the shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School made him want to kill the suspect. For unknown reasons, police say Davis took the comment as a threat and asked, “You want to murder me?”
Davis then allegedly went to his car, retrieved a pistol and fired three times in the customer’s direction. No one was hurt.

Especially since we arguably have less freedoms than a lot of other countries.
There's different definitions of freedom here too. To some, freedom is freedom from the gov't telling them what to do in some abstract way.
To me, freedom would be not having to worry about bankruptcy or "in-network" coverage if I get sick or have a huge accident. Somehow most other people here think that's the opposite of freedom.
