next time you down scale use bicubic sharper

also i don't know what camera you have but it looks like the mpix is set to scale up like some fujis do i.e. a 6mpix sensor claims it can shoot at 12mpix.
doing this just adds a shit load of noise.

I might downsize manually and re-upload. I let imageshack do it for me because it was easy. I also think the sharpen and slight saturation boost I did to some of them in Picasa contributed the noise. The camera is a Canon SD750 and should be a true 8 MP.

anyway, jpegs normally suck. i wouldn't worry about it.

Fuji P&Ss on high ISO do this thing called pixel binning where it aggregates several pixels into one and averages them out to reduce noise. You get less resolution, but it's suppose to reduce noise. They really do have 12MP sensors, but they also res themselves down. That only happens at unusably high ISO, though.

I thought it looked great.

It's pretty slick. It way overdoes some things, but you just have to be careful. You can mix the amount of effect with your source image by setting color/luminosity blending effects on the exposure layer.

I'm sure, with a bit of playing, you can get to the same place with aperture.

My 20d's now winging it's way to a military base in Germany. 5D should be here next week.
