to be honest i wasn't too fond of the movie.
7/10
On a side note, The Black Dahlia was written by James Ellroy based on real life events. I happened to catch his story on an episode of Murder by the Book. His own mother was murdered when he was ten. He got weirded out and became a drifter and peeping tom (which goes well with this thread, lol, http://www.quake3world.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=27793) and was even arrested for it I believe.

It's impressive to me that they had 6x the resolution of the original cut to give us, considering the age.

Is this good news for other films of the era and beyond? Would be awesome to know that most old films could be released in hi-def

Saw III

Absolutely Dreadful, with a capital D. Lots of gore, no plot, a main victim who doesnt even get the slightest of sympathy from the viewer, and shameful use of footage from the previous two to "explain" every little detail.

Im so glad theyre going to make a fourth one as well. All we need now is Wes Craven and we'll have years worth of crappy sequels \o/

Hey, Smokin Aces looks like it could be a right laugh. Anyone else feel the same?

Don't know if I ever posted it, but I saw Talladega Nights in the theater a while back. It's hard for me to express how utterly hilarious that movie was. Sacha Baren Cohen did a great job playing the Frenchie, and perfectly complimented Farrell and his sidekick's parts.

So after Christmas we bought the DVD and watched it again the other night. As comedy's go, I give it a 9/10. I couldn't realistically expect much more from a comedy than laughing my ass off through 2/3 of it.

Jay Cutler: New, Improved and Beyond.

Not as entertaining as Dorian "Come onnnnnn Yaaatesssss!!!!" Yates or Ronnie "Yeah Buddy!!! lightweight baby!!! whooooo!!!" Coleman's DVD's, but motivating nonetheless.

This is of my favourite part:

Lady in the Water: 5/10. Good children's book, average movie. The last 30 minutes bumped it up from a 4.

7/10 star wars redux

really liked the original, but the new cut is shite for all the obvious reasons.

that 'han shot first' bit stood out, not least of all because the guy he shot comes back from the dead in the next scene and then they use dialog that was rehashed for the bit in the bar.

the new stuff takes away the seriousness of the original, making the world puerile and silly instead of fun. it's a kids film with a little too much violence for very young children and not the great family movie that it was before.

CASINO ROYALE 8/10

BEST BOND FLICK SINCE GOLDENEYE. NO OVER-RELIANCE ON GADGETS AND THERE WAS A LOT MORE OF AN OLDSCHOOL BOND FEEL RATHER THAN JUST RAMMING AS MUCH ACTION AS POSSIBLE DOWN THE VIEWERS THROAT. THEY TOTALLY TOOK A DIFFERENT PATH AND IT REALLY WORKED. :icon14:

Dunno why. but i laughed nearly through the whole thing :olo:
[size=75][i]I once had a glass of milk.

It curdled, and then I couldn't drink it. So I mixed it with some water, and it was alright again.

I am now sick.

Just came back from the movies and watched Eragon.
6/10. LOTR set a new standard for medieval movies... but this one had dragons so it got 1+ to the points

I swear it appears Eragon got their story from the Dragonriders of Pern series by looking at the commercials.
