Children of men 7/10

I dont get all the hype over this flick. I like C. Owen and all... But this movie was just ok.

I got it after someone gave it a 10/10... it was pretty boring until the last 20-30 minutes, and I still didn't like the ending.

I agree.
Beyond the initial "ambush" and "star-death" it was mediocre at best over all.
The last half hour had its charm with the "crying effect" on everyone(subtle spoiler)..., then lost it with an art house abrupt ending. The plots pivitol question, (which is rarely asked) is answered in a fog/text cliche....cop-out.

The Aviator - 8/10

I wasn't expecting much out of this, but kinda wanted to see it. My gf saw it somewhere for 5 bucks so she brought it home and we watched it Sat night.

It turned out to be a really great movie. It showed Hughes' visionary side, and also got gritty with his erratic behavior and OCD. His testimony at the Senate hearing was worth watching the movie for.

I was hoping it would show more of his later life, but the way they ended it fit well.

I'm liking Leo Dicaprio more and more overall lately. Ever since I saw Gangs of New York I've looked at him a different way, and with The Departed and this one I've got to give him some respect. I'm starting to put him in the category with Johnny Depp and Ed Norton as far as versatility.

I'm thinking about checking out Blood Diamond, but not sure if I want to pay theater prices.

Strange, I would call it easily one of the best (top 3) movies I've seen all year.

Kill Bill is a fusion of a bunch of stuff, and it all works baby.

Bon Cop/Good Cop 9/10

Fucking hilarious...perfect billingual flick ... Red and I loved it.
The scence that the french cop teaches french swearing while smashing a guys head in the trunk of a car is worth the price alone.... Gonna buy it the first chance I get.

Children of Men .. sadly i didn't enjoy this movie as much as the hype.

Lady in the Water

5/10

Yes, we get that you don't like critics and also you feel misunderstood, but could you keep that crap out of your movies? Also, the movie itself just didn't do anything for me. Meh, oh well.

Dinotopia - I liked the book and expected the movie to suck but it wasn't as bad as I thought. Quite watchable if you don't mind the horrible characters.

Kung Fu Hustle - 5/10. unique, but outside of the fight sequences, pretty boring and not very funny.

I wouldn't call it unique either, pretty much all of Zhou Xing Xing's movies are like that. Was funny though, loved the knife scene.
