That 40mpg is pretty good. I thought when I saw the 'truck' it would be lucky to make it to 20 on a run.

Actually it's going quite well Might even extend the trip a couple days.

Road trip tips for all the haters and losers. Plenty of activities, short driving days and frequent of stops are your friend. Also helps to have dual screens, a thumb drive full of movies, and an unlimited LTE hotspot built into your vehicle so you can stream netflix to the entertainment system, the 4 ipads, or the WiiU we brought.

Also it's for the kids. If I wanted a to relax I would've left them at home. I've only wanted to drive off a cliff a couple times.

I think you're reading too much into it. They were checking out the pictures they just took of some antelope. I was the last one to use the binoculars so they were waiting for me. Also we put away the electronics in the park so they might be sneaking in a text or two.

It's fucking beautiful out here. In Waterton, AB now.
Did Badlands, Rushmore, Devils Tower, Jackson Hole, Tetons, Yellowstone and Glacier so far.

oohh yeea great city car!

for a touring type of trip tho meh..

is it about the kids? or is it daddys caddy parade?
Do you have one? Because it's actually the opposite. It's a pig in town and a pain to park. Magnetic ride, grade braking and an awesome backseat entrainment system is made for trips.

I'm sure your kids will thank you for boxing them up several extra days as they burn their eyes out watching a tiny LCD screen barreling down the road.

Enjoy.

Shame about all the trolling and flaming here, because the surroundings in that pic of shaft look absolutely beautiful.
Whereabouts is that?

Both shaft and Geoff's trips sound fun. shaft, that shot with the mountains is cool. Looks like a good spot to stretch your legs.

My wife and I just got back from a road trip. Geoff's talk of his RV trip gave me an itch I had to scratch. We spent a week in Colorado, mainly the southwest corner. Went to the Telluride Bluegrass Festival and saw two more national parks, Mesa Verde and Black Canyon (8 down, 51 to go). One of the highlights was seeing a sow and two cubs in Mesa Verde. :D

A shot of Black Canyon

So your wife is putting you into your own separate house? Jesus, as if sleeping in separate bedrooms isn't bad enough.
