Hey shaft, here are few more you can try identifying.
Heavy cloud cover, so the sky is shitty. Otherwise I think it might have turned out nicely.

Nice storm was rolling in:

Light was too low for this, but I didn't have my tripod, so it came out blurry. Turns out I kind of like the result. It makes it more surreal, if not pretty in its technical execution:
btw answers:
1) Baptism river at Tettegouche
2) Grand Marais breakwaters
3) trail at Cascade River

Time has passed, the bugs have pretty much moved on as the fall begins to lay its cold hand around my area. So I began looking for interesting things to aim my camera at and kind of gave up as my mind did not see what I thought would be interesting to me, or to you people. So one night I stepped outside on the back porch and looked up. The sky was clear and the stars were present and in force. So much so, that the Milky Way was obvious and present.
As I live on top of a hill (the highest around here) and living twenty five miles out of the city, and since I have a deep desire of the astro above, I nodded to my self and grabbed a fresh beer and headed outside with my camera and tripod. I then zoomed in to a quadrant in the sky that I knew contained nebulae clouds. Well, no need to say my first trip out was fantastic. As you can imagine it was basicly a bust but that did not detour me as I kept on trying. After many attempts and determination I found success. I did teach myself a lot about this kind of photography and am pleased with this result. I still have more to learn and equipment to buy to pursue this to a phenomenal level.
Give me little time, an I hope to see the Horse head Nebula, among others. I know its been done before, but not by me with a little DSLR.
If you don't like it, I don't fucking care. Mostly, I'm posting this one for my astro friends, and they know who they are.
If you think you can do better, by all means, post it up and lets critique.
21 shot stack.

i shot this with my Canon EOS 1DS MARK III with attached EF - telephoto 600mm lens tonight. i could have adjusted the aperture a little to really make the picture stand out but too little too late i guess. i hope the resize doesn't degrade the picture quality too much?

All I need is a D2x.
What I want is full frame digital RF to go along with a Leica 50mm F0.95.
In all honestly, I'm still so very satisfied with the D2x performance (IQ/mechanics) that a body upgrade is not necessary. The 5D image quality is just about perfect and even if you did shoot in wet condition the 5D should still hold up fine. If you worry, just wrap a condom over it.
True.. I've subjected my 5D to some shit. The only way it's leaving is in a body bag. Although I do have a Mark II on order. If I don't like it and I get it right away, I'll just turn around and sell it on ebay for a profit and buy a 1D III. I only shoot sports lately anyway, and for everything else there's the Hasselblad

you're seething with jealousy doombrain. that is of course to be expected when confronted with obvious picture taking brilliance
here's another shot from that same night, just a different angle.

Another trip out into the night sky.
Originally I had on a wide angle lens (two nights ago). I expected good results but was not thinking about my ISO setting when I clicked off 50 shots to stack. I thought I was at 1600 but when I dumped em on my computer I quickly found I was at 100. I knew a stack would be for not.
The night after was cloudy so I didn't not even try. But tonight was clear and cool so I clicked off a few dozen.
Sadly I didn't put on my wide but had my 60 mm attached as I thought the wide was still on. I went :\ but delt with it.
A Milky Way shot but not like I would have liked it.
