Is there any documentation on how to do what you just described?

Also, you have a shader/texture in crescent I'd like to use, but I can't get it to work right. It's that shader of falling particles and no matter what I do the particles don't fade towards the edge of the brush after I run a compile. Did you do something special to it?

I wrote something several years ago. Should probably rewrite this again though (pretty bad at sum things down good at that time I think). I have some free time now, might actually sit down and see what I can do. Can't promise anything though,

That's a good shader, using it in my new level too and will probably use it way more in the future. Just place an alpha blend zero in the bottom of it.

Pretty detail-less still, just trying to convert each area to the same scheme, plus I'm a slow mapper

edit: i envy your saturation levels hipshot :D

i have to say i like what ya doing kaz, really gritty. how much detail are you thinking of adding? reminds me of the 2'nd episode o the old amiga game chaos engine. are you gonna make it all steampunk?

Can that technique be used for anything that has an alpha layer? I'm going to try it on my next test run.

Hmm, what I meant was to place a brush with textures/common/alpha_0 in the bottom of the particle brush, so it overlaps the last vertexes.

@ Delirium. I don't know really, maybe there was a stone brick floor from the beginning, but when the communists came took over the place, they just put clang floor everywhere. But that was probably decades ago, local lowlifes now steals parts of the structure to sell for crack and the metal are probably the most valuable thing in here - Except for the Red Armor I guess...

See, I don't have one of those. :(

Should have come with q3map2.
Download -> http://www.zfight.com/misc/files/q3/q3m ... 32_x86.zip
And look into the extras folder, follow the instructions found there...

They're communists. They already have red armor.

Thanks for the download. I'll implement that next round.

Hmm, I got to admit that you seems to have nailed the light of the level perfectly with the chosen sky. Because of that, in shot 4, trees and hills looks very good in that scene as a backdrop, what sky box is this, name?

Its a skybox made by RabidCow (a Dev member for Urban Terror) the only place I have seen it is in the Urban Terror pak.pk3 which has the stock maps etc.

RabidCow is well known to the UrbanTerror mappers for the realistic skyboxes he makes so I thought I'd pinch it for my map :]

nice screenshots,, id show u some of my w.i.p but i really havent started it yet, besides they're defrag maps anyway lol :D

i wish i could make frag maps like u guys, but i jsut dont have the creativity or the scaling right. defrag is much more different imo. well for me at least because i started mapping in defrag. so its hard for me to change my ways of mapping. in defrag, u generally have to make everything a bit bigger, so its easier to get around.

http://q3a.ath.cx/?mapdetails=frozen_ice this is a frag map i released not too long ago its based off of a defrag map i also released not too long ago
if u play this map u can easily tell it has a defrag feel to it. its really easy to get around in the map, only thing i did not like was that there was no umm... wrap around... every hallway either led to a dead end or a tele.

on top of that i made the layout in paint in a about 20 seconds lol.. damn defrag.

Are you trying to use html tags? Try these brackets instead. [ ] if you are. Like so.

edit: hmmm, not showing for me. Maybe it's imageshack and not Firefox.

Imageshack uses their own preview images that you could use Ghost...

When you are on the my images site at imageshack, right click an image and choose share, use the forum preview link-

Then it becomes like this:

Yeah, for a level. Bits of trim and stuff that will be layered on top of traditional bitmap textures. I just wanted to show how vectors could be used to create textures as well, especially for curvy ornate bits like this which are difficult to paint in Photoshop. Freedom of scalability is nice too, shrinking or enlarging objects without loss of detail.

2/3 of the grate textures I posted a couple pages back are actually built up initially from vectors as well.

I don't think I ever seen any level from you, you're like an enigma...
Any screens to show? =)

Am I the only one here that thinks imageshack is the work of the devil?

I use photobucket to host my images but it always seems like everybody else uses imageshack. Any particular reason?
