What are the odds someone has been holding onto a bombshell story, waiting to drop it within these next two weeks of the campaign? I’m predicting something big within the next few days...

We've already had a few October Surprises, might as well keep going. I wouldn't be surprised if Rudy Giuliani or some other Drumpf goon drops a story on Nov 1st. It doesn't even need to hold up to scrutiny, at least not any more than a few days. What's James Comey up to right now? :ninja:

Anyone catch AOC playing Among Us?
Man, she's such a breath of fresh air. And I know, having an interest in videogames doesn't make someone a good politician (look at Biden's cringy animal crossing island), but someone having at least some affinity with the stuff that interests those within a 30 year radius around my own age is a huge plus.

Ilhan Omar was playing, too. Apparently she was using a beast of a rig, I think her teenage daughter probably helped set it up. :smirk:

I read somewhere people were complaining she was using an $1100 PC from taxpayers money :tard:
Was it an $1100 PC? Because to me, that sounds not like an awful lot of money for a moderne, high end PC.

People with no idea how taxes work will complain about any number that seems high to them, as long as it's not an unfathomable number.

75 billion extra for the military? Ok.
1100 dollars of her own money for a computer? Waste!

Most government PC's I work with hover around 1k in cost. They aren't high end PC's by any stretch of the imagination but they at least need to be good enough to run Windows 10.

I assume she was playing on her private computer, not on her work computer, so the whole "taxpayer's money" thing is just a completely moronic thing anyway.

If she works for the campaign she might be doing work that involves graphics which generally require higher specs to work with software like photoshop for example. Our graphics people generally have much beefier desktops.

I like how she co-opted Drumpf's racist "send her back" chant into a re-election campaign slogan.

Wouldn’t have a GTX or RTX. Would be something with more CUDA cores. But you already knew that right?

I had no knowledge of what she was using at all when I wrote that. I also don't keep up with graphic card trends whatsoever as I don't dabble with gaming PC's anymore. I used to do troubleshooting and repair of mostly in house systems but I'm currently in a new role and learning about Sharepoint and office 365 administration mostly. That doesn't mean I couldn't build a gaming PC if I wanted to but I simply don't have time to deal with that stuff when I'm delving deep into stuff like powershell.

Well if you ever get asked to build/spec a workstation for GFX or number crunching you’ll need something like this

That's very specialized hardware that's certainly not required for the average photoshop job. It's ridiculous to suggest this for someone who would design fliers or posters for a political campaign.

Sorry my problematic friend but there's a full range of cards starting with a consumer end solution aimed specifically at Photoshop etc. Also you're missing the 'workstation' point.

But yeah, no one needs a card for A3 posters :olo:

I mostly agree with you Doombrain, but I've been seeing high-end GeForce and Titan cards making inroads in Post Production houses over the last 3-4 years or so.

In particular, I've seen a lot of DaVinci Resolve workstations in small to mid-sized post houses utilising multiple GeForce cards in PCI expanders, like those from Cubix.

And some start-ups are even going for custom built PCs over big manufacturer workstations. It's odd seeing gaming style cases with side-windows in professional environments.

Still, when it comes to proper post houses, like MPC, The Farm, ITN etc., it's HP Z series workstations with Quadro cards that they're buying.
