you could have at least framed the subject properly....ah well....if you can't take criticism, you won't improve with taking great pics. Your loss.
I get it, two people commented on it and two disliked it. It was framed oddly deliberately, I thought that was pretty obvious. I don't normally take pictures with my head tilted thirty degrees to the side. You don't like it framed that way. I get that. The picture didn't go over well here. I get that. OK. Criticism accepted. Jesus.

Btw, do you guys shoot in RAW? I have tried RAW a long time ago, didn't like it, but I think I'll get a lot of use from it now. I think using RAW files will be a good idea for everything except sports.

I don't see the need for me to use RAW (yet). It's much more of a hassle and takes up much more space....maybe if you're a pro and do photography for a living.

just laughing at saturn for saying something as ridiculous as it needing at least "proper" perspective for the photo to have any worth.

That's silly. I usually shoot on manual after using spot metering on the grass. RAW allows you to easily correct the exposure if the sun decides to come out. People who shoot sports on JPEG probably do so because they like to mash the shutter button down and constantly fill the buffer on RAW.

What is the deal with photographers? The way I see it, they are copycats of someone elses work, might that be intelectual or simply works of nature. I understand that it takes a gifted eye to recognise what would make a good photograph, yet those are very rare in my book, because an inspiring photograph is nothing more than a still of an inspiring moment. I guess being at the right place at the right time is worth something.
To my experiance, the more expensive your toys the better the result [freak] unless you're a moron [/freak]. Filters and exposure tricks is where some expertice might come in play, but it seems those could be easily and more efficiently be done with the aid of computers.
I can appreciate a good photograph as much as the next peep but I just can't understand the obsession of shooting every random/stereotypical thing I see around.
explain...
