I just did the main story and hardly any side quests. Now that I'm finished with that I'm buying up property and doing all the miscellaneous shit.

There are some things you can't do once you've finished the game iirc.
I also found you'll never make your money back by owning property unless you play for a god awful long time...

My disc is still fuct up. Anyone know if I can just download the game if I've already paid for the disc and play off the hard drive? What are my options? Playing on Xbox 360...

Don't think so. If the disc doesn't look scratched it's probably the optical laser. Just youtube videos on how to pry it open till you open the dvd drive and clean the eye with q tips and rubbing alcohol. Might take a few tries.

Ditch the 360 and buy it on PC or next gen. problem solved.
Otherwise get one of those things that resurfaces the disc like they use to have a blockbuster.

I'd love to. But I don't really play games much, and it's not really worth it to upgrade to next gen or buy it again for PC. Oh well...

My Xbox did the same thing. It'd play other games but not gtav and battlefield until i cleaned the optical laser. I had to do it about once every 3 months. Eventually got fed up and bought the Xbox one.

New update is out for GTAV and it's pretty amazing.
A few updates have gone by since I last played. I discovered the new buisness update, where you can buy an office and undertake criminal activities in free roam. It's the tits honestly, I've pointed out many times how free roam is lacking in missions and tasks for your character to do and this does a lot to fix that. Really fun and it's definitely a nice way to make some cash that isn't repeating the same heist over and over.
Beyond that though there's been an update that adds these awesome race tracks all over, sorta like trackmania style tracks in the sky in tubes and it's a lot of fun. Beyond that they made a mode where you can pony up 20k to race, winner takes 100k and losers get nothing. I've made about a half million in 2 days doing those races, too bad you can only win once every 45 minutes or so but if you're a decent racer it's easy money.
