Re: The Election Thread
Truth be told though...right wingers only care about how their money is spent on others. If their taxes went through the roof and were told the money only went to what THEY wanted, they wouldn't care as long as the money benefited them, and them only.
Other people? Fuck that.
Other people? Fuck that.

Swenson, who was registered as a Republican, was accused of filling in a Republican straight ticket on ballots where voters did not specify a choice.

Re: The Election Thread
Looks like Obama won. Just as importantly, it looks like the Senate is Democratic, too.

Re: The Election Thread
I can recall wanting to go to canada when bush was elected...but then again it was like my first and second election, the second being my first vote. I think it's a normal thing for all sides to think but you'd think the old fucks would have learned by now that it happens every 4 years...

Re: The Election Thread
Now I just want to move to a blue state or one that legalized pot...damn.
That's the other big story of this election, because now they've forced the federal government to act and make a decision. For non-Americans, we have state laws and federal laws, and federal laws trump state laws simply. Things like drugs are scheduled and illegal on a federal level, but most states also have laws making it illegal. Now, with some states legalizing it, we have a conflict, and the federal gov't doesn't like dissent from states. Hopefully that makes it a more national debate.

Re: The Election Thread
Gay marriage legalized in 3 more states, marijuana straight up legalized in Colorado and Washington, Obama re-elected, Todd Akin legitimately raped. This is what progress looks like.
Re: The Election Thread
I'll give it another 3 1/2 years before I weigh in on the "progress" being made in the US of A. But I'm optimistic, which is more than I could say for a long time.
