New in my world: I moved to the country. Got a spot on 120 acres where we'll start to build our house in a couple years...

obsidian wrote:The shoes that fit should be the shoes that you buy. They need to fit very snug so there is zero chance your feet will slide around inside, but not so tight that they pinch. 5.10 Verde's are a fairly flat shoe which should work well for beginners and when doing face climbs. I've seen them around, but I have not climbed with them.
Personally, I've owned several pairs of La Sportiva Testarossa's but those are among the more aggressive downturned shoes ideal for overhangs. I've been climbing with them for so long I find it hard using anything else. La Sportiva came by and tried to hook me up with a few pairs of Solutions and their new Futuras, I liked the Futuras but still ended up going back to my old faithfuls.
TL;DL: You really just have to try on shoes, find the right fit, and see what feels best for you.
So they are definitely tight, majorly tight in fact, but the tightness feels evenly distributed across the whole shoe front to back. Is that wha I'm looking for?
I looked at the Sportiva shoes, but they were all a little out of my price range this time around. I'll wreck these ones while I get a bit better and then move up to something like that on the next go round.
Cheers for advice.

Pro tip. Don't do too much too soon. Take three months to build up.

In the land of Lars I finally got a new computer, it's a AMD Lenovo Laptop. First laptop I've ever owned. Still haven't figured out how to activate Windows yet but working on it.
Still have to come to the Library to use the silly thing. Discovered there is no Internet at my daughters house, (sigh), thought I had this whipped until she told me that. They all have smart phones, pesky kids. I have the computer though and that's a start

Yes, smart phones

I really have to investigate that topic and lash out one day.
Oh, by the way, back home
Glorious country drive! I will probably post some snaps in the week ahead.
Quick story to wet the appetite: I had to change a tyre on the car

About 7.30 am and some 30 - 50 klms out of Armidale a 'beep' went off on the dash at about 110kph and on reading the display it said check tyre pressures

The car was behaving normally and I had anther motorist right behind me, tailgating as they do sometime. I put on the left indicator and started to slow gradually. I found a spot and pulled over, got out and there it was, a flat

on the rear left.
Unpacked two suitcases and proceeded to change it. Now I will add, I have changed lots of wheels/tyres in my time but this the first in near sub zero temperature on a highway. I was wearing shorts and a light shirt 'cause I knew I wouldn't be stopping out there in the freezing cold countryside

It was a little chilly.
Edit: Spelling

This was mine from the late 90's. (pic isn't mine, just the same bike same color) I used it for downhill racing and cross country races and it served me really well. I was pretty rough on it on the downhill races and eventually traded it in for a Kona Cindercone. A few years later I saw a kid driving my bike, I knew it was mine based on certain scratches on the frame. I found it funny to see this kid riding my bike not knowing that bike had been ridden in a world event and many national events and even won in a few of them.
If I came across that bike again I'd buy it.
