It does look a bit odd there but thats because of:

A) You haven't set any of the texturs up correcly yet, so trims dont end where trims end on the texture. Hence the way the grating just ends rather than ending at the trim.

B) Your AF settings are TERRIBLE, seriously mang whack it right up to 16x AF or something :p

Odium: are you just referring to the grate mis-alignment, or are there more? Yeah I do not have a high AF setting on in the shot...

Tabun: I'll look into making a new one, although it does fit well in other places... :)

I'm very convinced it's going to hit it and go well. What we've seen is solid stuff.

Not interested in the rest of the discussion, tbh.

A few changes, still not 100% sure about what to do in the bottom left but tbh I don't want to overfill it:

For some reason I get the feeling that a simple grandfather clock should be in the corner there, facing away from our view (obviously). It would add a nice ambient sound too. ^^ Either that or a small stand with a ship in a bottle. :) I think that would be cool too.

Looks great, though. Keep up the good work.

Odium: I agree with Anthem's sentiments, although as you mentioned it might be pushing it texture-wise...

_Jal: is that a new q3map2 feature?

Looks interesting Kaz. You got more to this or is this just, as you put it, playing with intensities?

There is quite a bit more to it, if you search for kazdm4 in LEM you'll find the beta thread. I'll post more when I have some more novel things to show off! ;)

Ye, it avoids light hotspots allowing to create very intense lights which are near of walls and ceilings. It's at netradiant's repository. I thought you were refering to it. No matter, just ignore me.

Ah, cool - I might have to look into it because that effect is pretty apparent in certain areas...

Exactly, I think it looks just fine. Too much details can be a problem in such game, for example with movement.

Actually o'dium, I think skinncnmaster has a point.
If he [the character] is going to return to his home in the game the player will feel that "this is my home" if it is slightly different from other homes in the game and if the design of the room reflects the character better.

Its an open world, the characters home is there but theres no real point to going back there, ala any Zelda game.

o'dium, you have any pics of the final that you can show us? I am curious to see what you have for the final cut stuff.
Reason I ask is earlier in another post you mentioned something about final items you have but didn't want to put them in right now.

Only the outside world, but its all over the place, with parts done mixed with parts in progress and parts blocked out, so its tough to show. I'm still working through the contrastsaturation balance of the dungeons atm.

Well. That was fun. Wheeee!

FYI, I did a mass delete of both o'dium and skinNCNmaster's posts in this thread. Roughrider already warned about "turning the moderator's hand", consider that warning now served.

If you two want to continue to banter off on each other, do so somewhere where I can't see it. Go create your own forum and you can then do what you like on it.

The screenshots thread is a place to post pictures of what you are working on and receive suggestions. A page back, o'dium posted a screenshot, skinNCNmaster commented on it. I did not delete those two posts since you are both entitled to them. Clearly you two don't agree with one another. Tough. o'dium, it's your work, you choose who's advice you wish to listen to. skinNCNmaster, you have the right to offer constructive criticism, but understand that no one is obligated to listen to you.

This is not really something that should be hard to understand. I think I would call this common sense.

If you showed a shred if respect for those who support this community then perhaps they would give you some in return. However, this is not the case, and it is childish to expect respect from these people to whom you have shown none.

There weren't any respect problems before you returned, so it is you that is the catalyst to these problems. I don't have anything against you; I even respect you for trying to contribute to the community in a positive manner. But really, this was never a problem for many of the active people in this community.

If you really are unhappy here I recommend leaving. There's no use in making those around you unhappy simply because you do not enjoy this community like we do. Perhaps you can find (or make) a community better tailored to your needs, or you can simply use mIRC or another messaging program to keep in touch with other mappers since forum etiquette does not seem to be your forte. Regardless, I wish you luck in whatever you decide to do.

Anyway, back on topic:

I agree with fKd about a chest being at the foot of the bed or on the wall near the foot of the bed. That would also fit in the pirate theme fairly well as well as being a useful prop for taking up space. Perhaps if there is an item storage system it can be through using that (and other) chests. I'm not quite sure as to what the premise of the game is, but anything with pirates should have a chest. :)

kat: did you make that? cooooooool!

Just a couple more shots of the "loading bay" areas. I'm going to add some sort of anchor device that lifts cargo to the upper level storage area... but some questions:

a) I'd like to label each area with some painted text. Should it go on the door or the wall?
b) (first shot) Are there any suggestions for what should go outside the window? Does the "awning" look weird?
