You homos should see Mr Brooks, it's brilliant. Going by the official Q3W rating system it's a 13/10.

The Simpsons Movie - 5/10 I was quite disappointed with it. The story had basically already been done and they blew all of their best jokes in the commercials. I honestly think they made this move as a final push to milk the licensing/marketing cow and we'll see the end of the series in the next 3-5 years.

Vacancy - 3/10 Meh

300 .. should be seen in theaters .. one of the best cinematics I've ever seen.

-loved Oceans 13 .. very cool and funny
-new Hairy Potter movie sucked balls
-hated hated new Spiderman
-wasted good money on Pirates of the Carrabean"sp" 3 ..total garbage

Namibia has the tiniest theatre in the world and we only have one to choose from but it's 5 dollars to watch a movie.

Transformers: 4/10

Visually superb, but the main cast's characters stay extremely shallow and not-believable.
Michael Bay is such a douchebag, he's worse than Uwe Boll.

I said it before and I'll say it again. 300 was one of the most ridiculous movies I've ever seen. Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed watching it but every time I do watch it I can't help but laugh. Almost every scene in the movie is done in slow motion and I'm convinced that if the whole thing was played at a normal speed it would be around 20 minutes long.

In short, all style, no substance.

Someone showed me the actual comic they made the film after and since then i have a lot more respect for what it was - almost every scene is absolutely identical to the comic, it's really quite amazing.

So yeah, all style no substance is about right.

The reason why I enjoyed 300 so much was that I went into it conscious of the fact that it was based on a comic book interpretation of the historical events. Ergo, it was pure fucking ownage.

Yeah I've read through the graphic novel a number of times and it does indeed lack a lot of substance. The only reason I look at 300 as not being a great movie is that Sin City was done in the same way and it came off great in my opinion.

Ghosts Of Cite Soleil 9/10

wow, just incredible.

Heres a Ctrl C /Ctrl V about it:
An epic portrait of a family and a culture torn apart by poverty and violence, GHOSTS OF CITÉ SOLEIL is a powerful and unsettling documentary that takes us inside the lives of the notorious gang leaders who dominate the Haitian slum of Cite Soleil, one of the most desperate communities in the Western hemisphere. Set to a score by Wyclef Jean, who also executive produced the film and serves as an inspiration to the young men of Haiti, the film follows two of the gang leaders, who happen to be brothers, and are also aspiring rappers. The foot soldiers of these gang leaders are known as chimeres (or “ghosts”) and it was those ghosts whom former President Jean-Bertrand Aristide is said to have employed to silence his opponents. Filmed in the months leading up to Aristide’s overthrow in 2004, the film captures the smoldering tensions between the two rival gang leaders, and their love for the same woman, set in a city the United Nations has declared the most dangerous place on Earth.

As for 300... I never went to see it. But I saw the last half of it at a buddy's house the other night.

I think it's pretty much crap aside from the cinematography, which is great.

I think they way the Persians are portrayed is pretty disgusting considering our current political climate, whether it was that way in the graphic novel or not. They may as well have just shown them conjuring cloven-hooved demons straight from the underworld to fight for their side.

Parts of the action were incredibly fun to watch, but most parts of the film made me want to stop watching because the characters and dialogue were so transparent and shallow.

And what's up with the Spartans' cheering about Freedom all the time? Weren't they a slave-owning society? :dork:

That "Freedom" talk wasn't in the graphic novel, it's an addition by the filmmakers, which felt pretty out of place.

sunshine - one of the best flicks i've seen in a theatre in a long time. Bit experimental at times, and sometimes hard to follow (specially when this stupid git infront of me had his head blocking half the screen the entire movie).

excellent atmosphere, soundtrack, and pretty gripping. Absolutely terrified my girlfriend which was kinda fun.

TMNT - 8/10 I actually thought it was quite good. Basically like a more hardcore Pixar movie (although it wasn't really hardcore at all). I liked how even though it was animated they made it a sequel to both the movies and cartoon. Definitely entertaining.

Knocked Up - Not as funny as I thought it would be. Not bad though.

Vacancy - This reminded me of o'dium's life - shit.

Transformers - Amazing effects, but way too fucking long. Also, the fight at the end... I had no idea who was the bad robot and who was the good robot. Not that I cared. By then I just wanted them all to die so I could get the fuck of the cinema.

The Hills Have Eyes 2 - Yeah and fish also have feelings. I however, wasted 2 hours of my life and 700mb of Hard drive space of this piss.
