I thought it was a strong season, though they made a few decisions that slowed the story down perhaps. Such as trudging through a frozen wasteland with John Snow without anything really happening for a long time and the decision to stick with the dragon lady who was merely shouting for her dragons, which became slightly annoying after a while. Could have done a few episodes without her perhaps.

But there were many, many scenes that made up for the failings, which in any case i thought were few and far between.

The characters have always been the strong point of this show but the storyline has stagnated to the point that this shites becoming a more intelectual Eastenders

At the end of an entire season, of which you never got what was promised (at least teased) from the 1st season which was the excitement of going beyond the wall, and having sweet dragon action, we are left yet again with a hook on the same two main points. A scene of deadwalkers in the verge of kickassery and the promise of dragon action to come.

frankly, if you don't enjoy the show simply for the mentality of the characters, their fucked-up situations and the shit they come out with, you're watching the wrong show.

yeah but come on, they flaunt it in that way, they pimped it out at the end of season one and now season two. I'm fine with the other aspects of the show and it's done well...which is why any type of action to be had will be well done...so hinting at impending action which never comes is pretty shitty of them.

I was going to say the same, but in all honesty, it's a retarded thing to say. If reading the books is a requirement to enjoy the series, then obviously the series are flawed. Not that I think it is, it's just a flawed way of reasoning.
