@sock: Check the Architecture of "Hunderwasser" - an austrian architect\artist. This picture shows a destructor designed by him - its built in the middle of vienna (next to my university): Image

He always implements all kind of green stuff like trees, vines...into his buildings. And ye, they are also colourful... :D

skin, i think that if you get that lit up properly, and perhaps with some adjustments to the textures it will be looking really unique and cool. some impressive brushwork

Decided not to go with the organic-y look, I'll save that for another map. I think it'd be hard to fit the sponsor images into such a theme. I've therefore decided to go with a more traditional look and have started with the e8 textures, although I'm going to try hard to create a unique environment:

the matrix is weak here ...

@wattro, I am exploring :)
@neoplan, I've been to Vienna and Hunderwasser does some awesome architecture.
@Kaz, you need a theme, your latest screenshots are just too generic.

Kaz: I think this new direction is a bit 'icky' (if you get what i mean) compared to where you were before. Might just be the lighting though.

What do you think about this? I still have time to completely settle on a direction, so if this just isn't cutting it I'm okay with that. I was considering making this either an underwater station, or just a floating rig of some sort at sea:

Needs more sea salt rust, pools of water and pipes.

You have a testing version of that map yet Kaz? I would be interested in taking a look at it :D

That looks much nicer. As well as what Obsidian said, I think with either of your setting choices you have a lot of potential for 'movement'.

Animation really touches a scene up, water drips, animated pumps, it's a fair bit of extra work but it really gives a map that 'alive' feel to it.

Kaz! That's absolutely amazing! Nice architecture! Maybe, as said Obsidian, more pipes, but.. WOW! :)

Be carefull that you don't end up with the same theme as in your last map Kaz. IIRC, that's not what you wanted. =)

cityy: yeah, i've been having similar thoughts that i might just be a one trick pony! :tear: haha

edit: roughrider - i do not have a version available yet, aside from the alpha which you can find in the kazdm5 alpha thread :)
