Yeah but that's basicly the same point I'm making except you're going into the reasons why they do it. Sure they do it to compete but compete for what? For men of course which is basicly what I'm saying. Chicks don't get all dressed up to go out with the girls they do it for men, IE: men that'll have sex wtih them.StormShadow wrote:Women dont get dressed up to get laid. They dont need to. Guys would bang any reasonably attractive girl at any time regardless of whether or not she was wearing makeup, or whether or not her hair looked 'nice'.Kracus wrote:Women aren't complicated, they think like we do but just don't want to admit it. You think a chick get's all dressed up for hours getting their hair done and nails and a whole bunch of other shit on friday night to go out and NOT get laid? Even though it happens often the reality is no, she fully expects sex she just needs to meet the right guy. The right guy 90% of the time just needs to be funny or entertaining. If you got looks, money, car or anything else that's just icing on the cake. Some women like icing though.
Women get all dolled up to compete with other women.
Thats like saying women buy $300 Versace shoes to impress men. Men dont give a shit. We cant tell Versace from Pay-Less. They buy stuff like that to rub it in other womens faces. Women hate other women.
They're just bucking for a tip, Casanova.Kracus wrote:Yeah but that's basicly the same point I'm making except you're going into the reasons why they do it. This post makes me think you have a pretty good grasp on the intricacies of the deep, dark, scary-as-hell place that is the female psyche...and use that to steer women.John^Rocker wrote:chik tell ius more
*Never* say that to a girlie girl unless you're willing to have your ears talked off and the pay-off is worth it, i.e. sex sans commitment, or peace from Her Indoors for a while.

Nah I'm just bored. Seriously though do you go out to clubs? If you do and you get all dressed please tell me that you do so with the intention of possibly meeting a guy. The sex part usualy happens before you know it. Least that's how it tends to go for me.chiQ wrote:Look JR, he's trying to be like you :icon26:Kracus wrote:really that's so clever tell me more.

I am invisible to them or simply a nuisance. I was in barns and nobles earlier and I kept walking by this woman in her 30s like 3 or 4 times and not once did she even acknowledge me (I asked her the time as well and she awnsered without any signals of flirting), and these 2 younger teen girls also ignored me and no matter how hard I would try and tell myself in my head what to say to them I kept walking by and couldnt say anything. And in the past whe i was a teenager I would get so nervous that I would look down or try to avoid the person I was attracted to or simple waited for something to happen and it never did. not to mention the fact that girls would talk about guys or sex right in front of me liek I wasnt even there or existed or was male.
Nah, married, work too much, etc. No clubbing for me. When I go and play pool with the boys I tend to wear whatever the dresscode of the pub requires (jeans, T-shirt, trainers) and mascara (my warpaint)...and if my lips are dry lip gloss too...if I can find it...often can't because it gets used so rarely :icon26:Kracus wrote:Nah I'm just bored. I go out to meet guys, but they're the same guys I game and play pool with regularly, some from my clan, and it's a meet planned via email. It's not the kind of 'meet' you mean, right?
Summary: I'm not the kind of chick being discussed in this thread, so I can't help with their motivations for getting all gussied up to go out.
Wow. I have had this EXACT same issue w/ women at work. Once I worked in a QA group that was comprised of me and 30 guys and another woman came in and started competing w/ me for no reason. I hate that. I wasn't even the best gamer in the room, so why would she compete w/ me? Compete w/ the best person in the room. Always.chiQ wrote:I think there's an element of truth in that, though I wouldn't say women hate each other. I just think women are really competitive with each other.StormShadow wrote:Women get all dolled up to compete with other women.

I used to work with a bunch of guys in a small software house. A chick started work with us, and immediately went about trying to A. form some sort of coven of womanly solidarity with me *against* the guys, B. extract me from the boys' club, of which I was part, and C. make me over, i.e. make me more girlie, by offering tips of being more feminine and attractive (pffft!).
It made me very uncomfortable, and the guys were very aware that things changed from that point. She was a nice girl, but my impression was that she couldn't be one of the boys, so she was somehow feeling the need to extract me from my comradeship with the lads, so she didn't have to compete with the level of comfort I'd built up with them. She didn't stand a chance, being a very female female, but she had the upper hand over me when it came to being womanly, hence the attempts to create some kind of sisterhood with me. I left the job after a while of that, though not because of it. I visited a year or two later, after she'd also gone, and the lads had reverted back to their comfort zone, and were once more using rude system sounds, manly wallpaper, and naughty notices on the walls.
Woman are good at manipulating situations so they're more comfortable, but that's a womanly art I lack, so she made my life much less pleasant than it had been up until that point, despite being a very likeable and pleasant person. I understandably prefer to work with men as a result.
But I should say that I have positive experiences working w/ women, too, and those relationships are great. But more often than not one woman will really dislike me.
Basically, yes, women are complicated. In fact, I'm 30 years old and I can't figure out my own damn self!
