well you can go to any shop close to you and get a NIC card for an empty pci slot. this is of course, if no one else has any suggestions to get your onboard NIC working. i don't have any other ideas for your onboard NIC dude, sorry. maybe someone will pipe in that has the same board as you or something similar.

No ideas here really. If he has enabled it in the BIOS, installed the drivers in Windows, rebooted, and it still doesn't show in device manager it sounds like it's hooped. Time to buy another NIC (I'd recommend a Dlink or 3Com).

I got a new router/dodem. Its a linksys WAG354G. I got the ethernet PCI card too. Now I can connect to the web page when I enter http://192.168.1.1 so im now trying to set it up.

When I go to the "Status " page and click "Connect" it wont connect. Im sure sure what im suppose to be connecting to but it doesnt connect anyway.

I have the following settings that im not at all sure about..

1. Qos Type. This is set to CBR now. My options for this are CBR, UBR and VBR.

2. Pcr Rate & Scr Rate. I need to enter something in these field or I get an error when I try to save the settings. What should I enter?

3. Host Name. This is now blank, what should I enter here?

4. Domain Name. This is also blank, what should I enter here?

5. MTU. This is set to Auto. Options are Auto and Manual.

6. Local IP Address. This is set to: 192.168.1.1

7. Subnet Mask. This is set to 255.255.255.0

8. Local DHCP Server. This is Enabled. My options are: Enabled, Disabled and DHCP relay.

9. Starting IP address. This is 192.168.64

10. Maximum Number of DHCP Users. This is set to 191.

11. Client Lease Time. This is set to "0" minutes (0 means one day)

12. Static DNS (1,2,3 and WNS). These fields are all filled with zero's.

Im in the UK and this is a 2Mbps ADSL line.

I have taken two screenshots. One is the status screen and the other is the basic settings window.

dude, just use the quickstart but make sure you disable wireless if your'e not going to use it.

read up on wireless security a bit if you are, or you'll be extremely lost. turn it off for now.
