The "downloaded"-folder is there but empty. Sucks...

@ Gravity: nice one!

I sat yesterday all evening and also made a track. Triple loop in which you have a speed of about 550 :icon25: and 2 upside down midair experiences (made from those half pipe elements).

I think it's finished. Played it for some time and the track really runs good. But it's not easy... I'll put up a server in the afternoon and/or evening. German server "The_Centrifuge_...".

PS: lol @ your "Corkscrew"-track ...fun!

Hmmn. Some really cool design elements in that--I like the extended corkscrews, but there are some annoying bits too--right after that first loop where you have to make a hard right or left while you're in the half-pipe and exit at one end or the other seems clumsy.

It's generally too long for my tastes too. I finally finished it without falling off or screwing up too badly and got the gold, but it took me a lot of time and work to just get to the end that once...it could be just me, so take this with a grain of salt if other people seem to like it. :)

If you guys feel like checking it out, see what you think of this one:
http://nations.tm-exchange.com/main.asp ... =7018#auto

It's a little wacky, and forces you to drive on the stadium geometry to get a good time...

The main servers are saturated tonight. I got on earlier but I can't do so now.

I hope you're around to play tomorrow night. My connection is gone by friday.

If you get used to the track you can do this rather elegant. It's a matter of practice. And yes, I LOVE long and hard...err... tracks! :icon25:
apropos practice: i just finished the beta of an even harder map. :p

reef, didn't open a server yet, was too busy building this new track. Thinking about opening one at about 10:00pm (about half'n hour from now on). Server name will be "The Centrifuge"...

It's ok that you have to set up servers and spend massive amounts of time to insure that you gain friends, I understand.

[Edit: chopov, I just beat your time on Centrifuge and uploaded the replay. :) You're right, you can do that exit from the halfpipe pretty elegently if your timing is right. Still a bit long for my tastes though...]

Reef, I just checked out your tracks. The difference between the F-1 series and the Nerves series is kind of huge. :)

I uploaded replays for all the F-1 series (don't know how hard you tried on the author times...). They're kinda boring in a way, but fun to race and practice steering/braking on.

The Nerves series...whew. I thought a few of them were just obnoxious...blind corners after jumps/boosts, and a lot of parts where, if you didn't know what was coming, you were bent over and soundly reamed.

I couldn't even be bothered to finish Loops, Corkscrew, Gravity, and Insane after falling off them a few times, but finished Height (mislabelled on the site as "Gravity") because it was cool enough otherwise that I could ignore the nasty bits. :) Steel is the friendliest of the bunch, IMO--you can more often see what's coming.

Nascar and Speed are kind of one-trick tracks. Nascar is cool--great exercise in timing and brake/throttle. Speed is just all about precision.

Anyway, I posted replays for Height, Steel, Nascar, and Speed too (again, I don't know how hard the author times were intended to be...).

Dunno if you want any advice--but on future tracks I'd suggest trying to cut down on the blind corners right after jumps and boosts, and try to smooth out the transitions from flat to angled, rather than having an abrupt bump there.

Thanks for the entertainment. :)

Great feedback pjw!
I'll fix the misspelled name thing on gravity at the download page, cheers.

I dident work on beating any times during the Validating process in the editor, i just ran the lap to finish it and validate it, so nope, no track records for me there.
Best time i've seen on Nerves of nascar is 24:07 seconds.. thats fast.

Thx for the constructive critism on my tracks pjw, appreciate it.. although, i wont be doing any more maps.
The Nerves of.. series looks like alot of put together pieces in random order.. but they really arent.. some of those maps took me between 2-8 hours and are well thought out with speed, height and distance in loops jumps etc... i dident throw them together.. but at the same time i dident want straight up "normal" tracks.. no i wanted tracks that are hard..unpredictable and takes awhile to learn... and you should get a "finally!!" feeling once ya cross the finishing line.... and i think i manage to create such tracks.. because the Nerves of.. series is very populare on my server.. now we will see if it is populare on other servers once ya can DL 'em. :icon26:

The F1 maps is very hard to recreate since this editor is very limited with the building blocks.. but i tried to get them as close as possible.

Cheers again..and enjoy!

ps. Foo.. get the maps before yer internet connection is gone.. and u got a few hours to beat.. hehe :icon34:

chopov, your map is absolutly genious!
Love the layout.. you made it look like a small futuristic city... and you took the time to add pillars underneath tracks etc.. im lazy :icon31:

The track isent that hard..and what i like about it is that its pretty self going.. u just have to go full throttel and close yer eyes.

Great map! :icon14:

Thx for your feedback! Well, I only built pillars in the beginning. 3/4 of the track has no pillars at all. I'm lazy too. The look was not really planned from the beginning....in the end it just looked as it looks, which I slightly emphasized with some details..
reefsurfer wrote:The track isent that hard..
Hm, most of the time not more than 2 or 3 players made it from start to finish...and i got a time limit of at least 20-30 minutes on my server. On the other hand: you are well trained concerning real heavy tracks... :icon26:

btw, i slightly reworked the half pipe, final version now online:
