Cats in general are more feminine, dogs are more masculine.. So I can see the correlation between men who dont like cats not liking women. Personally im not a big fan of cats.. but girls are OK :) Im being forced to live with a very unpleasant cat atm, but she is slowly growing on me.

BTW, I see nothing wrong with declawing a house cat.. an outdoor cat is a different story, as its claws are its only defense.

Cat doesn't really get in our way.. sometimes if we walk past her she'll attack our legs... and I don't mean in a playful way, I mean claws extended teeth sinking in rabid kind of attack. Thankfully she hasn't done that lately.

One time I was just sitting at my computer and she jumped and bit my arm for no reason, and left a nice little bruise.

Its the unprovoked attacks that really get on our nerves, because they usually hurt the most.

I heard getting her fixed may help calm her down... but how much?

How about you just get her fixed already.

That's not the only reason. His playing and biting doesn't bother me. This neighborhood has enough strays. No need to have mine adding to the population. Not that he'll get outside, but just in case. He's also been declawed and vaccinated.
you had your cat declawed? what a fucking cunt.
if you dont want a pet that scratches shit, dont get a cat.
I may cut his tail off later just for the fuck of it too.

cats use their nails as much as humans ues their toes. it helps their balance, especially when they land after jumping off the table or summat.

I see nothing wrong with pulling your fingernails out and removing your thumbs.

Ive had loads of cats, and there has never been an issue with them scratching shit...however my cats were all fixed, and not expected to live inside 24/7

the whole concept of a housecat is retarded, the best thing about having cats is knowing that at night your cute little kitty is out killing things.

Well, technically cats only use the nails on their hind legs for balance. My brown cat Bella was declawed because she had the tendency to scratch everything. Now she just has big soft paws but still tries to paw at an occasional newspaper or couch :icon26:

I don't think declawing is in a different league to neutering. Both are pretty cruel practices.

The argument of how necessary each is doesn't seem to hold much merit either, since they're both entirely dependant on culture and so is whether you would even want a cat in the first place.

Hrm, I'd rather lose my fingernails or fingertips than get my penis and testis scraped off my pelvis with a small rake, but that just might be me.

Don't put your hand down to play with her, then, play with a string or something. I would handle her very gently when you're petting her. I've had a lot of cats, sometimes you have to work for a while to tame them down. When you pet her, pet her very gently and pull your hand away when she starts biting. They need calming down, not more agitation.

Getting her spayed would be a good idea, I don't know if she's gone into heat yet, but it's hard to sleep with a cat in the house in heat, they yowl and posture all night.

Tell that to my local animal shelter that puts 100's animals to sleep every week because owners dont bother getting them fixed. But im sure its much crueler to safely and painlessly remove a pair of balls then to literally kill millions of animals weekly because they are not cute enuf to be adopted.
