http://sites.gizoogle.com/index2.php?ur ... .38678.htm

I was surprised by his response to the first question
Mizzy Atwood: We always stated thizzat Revolizzles was a code name like old skool shit. While it indicates tha disruptive nature of tha system, we wanted a name tizzy represents all inclusizzles coz that’s a hizzy point of tha system. It’s not `bout you or me – it’s `bout Wii. So, it’s basically a different kind of a system so i can get mah pimp on.
good god that's an annoying proxy

i hate people who interview like that too. gee, lets ask the same question in every possible permutation and maybe we'll get the answer we want to hear!

nothing actually. i personally find it lame that Ninty fell over to the darkside of "bullshit marketing", with their "breaking the wall between gamers and society" and all that crap.
they never cared about such, they were the only ones who were kinda down to earth in the business. well, marketing wise that is :icon32:

They say the "ii" is because of two players... Are they fucking mad? Two player multiplayer died with the NES for gods sake...

These days if its not 16,24,32+ player then fuck it. It needs to at LEAST be 4 player, or 8.

So, for their retarded name to make sense it should be "Wiiii" or "Wiiiiiiii".

Fucking hell ill still buy it, but im dreading this conversation:

"Yes sir can i help?"
"yes can i have a Wii please?"

Actually they said the 'ii' symbolizes the player and the controller.

Also I'll bet you money that a parent shopping for a console will ask for 'the new nintnedo'. I'm sure you've had similar requests with the 'new gameboy' which could mean the DS or the Micro.

What an absolutely horrible name. The revolution was fine, why change it? Its almost as bad as this in the "stupid things to name your product" list.

Nintendo has officially lost it.

Correction. It has 4 gamecube controller ports.

The regular wii controller is wireless.

yah I know but I assume that, because there's 4 GC ports, you can play with 4 revolution... I mean Wii controllers as well.

are they calling the controllers 'wands'?

that's going to go great with wii. the first game could be mario's urinal challenge.
