My city is around 200,000 people. It's cheap because the pay isn't so good around here either. It kindof balances out. THe average wage around here is less than just about anywhere else. People doing exactly the same thing as me 200 miles in any direction are making 5 or 6 $ more than me an hour. But everything is much cheaper as well.

Cost me for this small house 1800$ in heating and that is not including winter wardrobe... boots, coats, sweaters... And many elderly people braking bones slipping on icy sidewalks.

For the whole winter but still...We have a ''biƩnergie heating system''when the temperature is below 12C the furnace use oil if over it use electricity. There is a type of sensor that tell us when the change occur, a orange light tell us that the degree is below and at that time if you use the dryer or any other things that use electricity, it will cost you much more than usual. A program that our gov. made like 15 years ago and they are working on something else. We have one of the cheapest source of energy/electricity in the world thanks to our vast resources of water and they are salt free. There is at the moment a big lobby trying to transport our water to the USA

Me? I feel a bit better switching from (kebab) indian to (stirfry/veg) chinese takeaway.

Getting my ass on the turbo trainer in my dads garage for 15 mins made me feel a hell of a lot better last week, too. As soon as exams are done I'm back to York and doing that daily.
