1 GB on that card is only 512 MB effectively, as each chip stores it's information seperately.d3mol!t!on wrote:I'd say go with the 7950. It's like an SLI in one version of the 7900 series, and besides the performance, with 1GB of video RAM on it you can boast to people like me who still have only 1GB of system RAM :icon32:

Yes I suppose, but more to the point was that you can boast about it still to the untrained observerSplishSplash wrote:1 GB on that card is only 512 MB effectively, as each chip stores it's information seperately.

I only ask the question because the 7950 is suppose to be an SLi configuration on one card. And SLi doesn't support dual monitors.SplishSplash wrote:I'm pretty sure you can. Even all the cheapo low-end consumer stuff can do it.YourGrandpa wrote:Dose anyone know if you can run dual monitors on the 7950?

Fuck off, shrew.
I see you two finally found your way, just as I predicted.HM-PuFFNSTuFF wrote:gramps is an asshole-eating baby-murderer

Searching around quickly, this article reckons you cannot run dual monitors unless you disable SLi mode on it (which I guess would leave you with 7900GT sort of performance).YourGrandpa wrote:I only ask the question because the 7950 is suppose to be an SLi configuration on one card. i have to say all gramps did was ask which card should he get. most of us have enough money to buy something like this on a whim, some of us have posted new shit on here from time to time, so i don't see the issue. i mean, the last thing gramps posted was over a year ago ffs.
PS, he has picked everyone of you apart, own7.

Another reason to get the 7900 GTS instead.d3mol!t!on wrote:Searching around quickly, this article reckons you cannot run dual monitors unless you disable SLi mode on it (which I guess would leave you with 7900GT sort of performance).YourGrandpa wrote:I only ask the question because the 7950 is suppose to be an SLi configuration on one card. Well shit, that sucks. I'll look into it a little more tonight when I have some time.d3mol!t!on wrote:Searching around quickly, this article reckons you cannot run dual monitors unless you disable SLi mode on it (which I guess would leave you with 7900GT sort of performance).YourGrandpa wrote:I only ask the question because the 7950 is suppose to be an SLi configuration on one card. BTW, wasn't Nvidia suppose to come out with drivers that enabled dual monitors in SLi on the newer cards? :icon8:
