The 1Ds would be 6K on it's own ;)

Where did I say one cam and one lens is worth 6k? I thought about just bringing the body and the 17-40, but that would be pointless, since I can bring my mom's P&S instead. I'm going there to go out and chill, I don't care about taking pictures.

What am I gonna shoot anyway, the buildings? The skyline? Its all been done anyway, you can just get a postcard instead.

Yes, I have the same one toxicbug is not bringing to London where it might get stolen. It's currently at the canon factory service center in california getting it's focus mechanism fixed \o/

Don't worry, I dropped mine on a concrete floor from about 2 feet off of the ground when I moved across town last month. As far as Canon knows, it just "stopped working" >:E

Here's what i think: TB's pictures are technically very sound, but they lack soul. Not once have i looked at them and wondered 'what is that' or 'how the hell?' or perhaps 'what is he/she thinking?'.

With TB i go 'oh a car'. Or 'oh something with a white background'.

hsi car shots are quite good i think, but he needs to branch out and this would be a perfect opportunity.

Just buy a cheap P&S for £100 or so, you don't have to take amazingly good pictures but I'm sure you'll miss a camera if you didn't take one.

I'm glad you understand :icon14:

Probably won't take my laptop either, I wanna be completely hassle free when I'm there. I can nerd it up when I get home.

Seriously, I’m in London docklands all week next week. If I can get out of a fucking horrid networking party I’ll meet up for a drink and find you some fanny. I'll keep checking here.

PS, you'll regret not taking a good zoom camera.

yeah there are inquiries of TB's photography skills and inspirations etc, but maybe he just doesnt feel like bothering with his camera this time around?

who cares, he should do what he feels like. i don't really see why everyone's ribbing him for it
