On a normal day I spend 45min to an hour one way, depending on traffic. On days that I visit my projects, I'll spend 3 to 4 hours on the road.

I know that feeling mate. I've got to go to a meeting in Spain next week. Flying out the day before at 17:00, the meeting starts at 09:00 the next day and finishes at 17:00. The fucking flight is booked for home at 21:00 and lands at 00:00 and then I’ve got a one hour drive home.....
