Aye. IIRC Nintendo Power gave it the worst review on the Wii yet.

i don't have a wii but i think playing games like zelda with average last-genish graphics is ok, since zelda is a stellar game overall. but when you consider that nintendo does want a wide variety of games on the thing, like call of duty 3 was out on it, and probably many more cross-platform games, but i don't think those games will be worth playing at all since they look so crappy (mind you i'm talking about those other games not the quality first-party nintendo stuff). but i guess if you don't have a 360 to play the better looking games then it's not much of a choice

I personally don't want to play games like FarCry and CoD on the Wii for any reason.
But that's just personal preference. I wouldn't play them on a 360 either. FPS and such are still for PCs, IMO.
But I will say this: if Nintendo had actually done everything the same way they have with the Wii, but ALSO drastically improved the graphics, I would have been willing to pay double what they cost now.
It would be worth it to me just for the improved graphics on racing/driving games and sports games.
Nintendo has never gone the photo-realism route with their visuals - but if they did that with their next console, and kept this new control scheme, they would have an unbeatable platform for all kinds of games - including FPS and RTS and Adventure and others that have traditionally been better on PC.
They can still do those well now - just not with the graphics required to compete with the PC, or other consoles.

well not just call of duty or fps, but you can bet they will have all sorts of cross-platform games, nintendo just can't hang on their first-party stuff alone since they don't make enough of it
i'm just saying, if there is an option to own a game on all 3 consoles, why would i want to spend full 50$ on the inferior wii version when the 360/ps3 versions will look exactly the same

and even if i only had a wii, i would have a hard time getting a game like that. just can't get over the fact that why am i paying full price for this when it looks so old? maybe i'm just harsh

No, I agree for the most part. Unless it's a game that could really benefit from the Wii's control system I won't have much reason to buy it.
But, contrary to what a few people have said, the control system really is accurate and easy to use -- and I wouldn't be surprised if quite a few games turn out to work really well on it.
To cross over from another thread.... I'm kinda looking forward to seeing some 2D fighting games on the Wii. I think if they're done right, they could be really really fun -- for the first time since college.

I've been considering renting it from Blockbuster but I haven't yet.
I can tell you that Red Steel was horrid and you better rent it if the thought of buying it comes into your head.

Yep, but you're forgetting the possibilities of using the remote. Think something like "Twist your wrist clockwise and squeeze the trigger to throw a fireball."

Notice how all my arguments center around me not being able to press buttons correctly like a mongoloid? :icon32:

I don't think so - as long as it's done correctly.
I've been using it for a few weeks now, and it doesn't bother me as much as typing on a keyboard does.

Yea I saw it the other day, it's on my list.
I downloaded Gradius, SF II and Super Contra the other day too.
I love this thing, I can't wait until more titles are up.

No more heroes looks mighty interesting. Am wondering about Project H.A.M.M.E.R. as well, although I fear it might have a bit bland gameplay. Day of Disaster is a bit of a mystery as well.
Good to see Nintendo are coming with such titles as well as their old classics. Some new, more adult oriented games from Nintendo are a good step from them.

I've been getting tons of games off there. Gunstar Heroes and Super Star Soldier are worth checking out if you like arcade shooters.
