i don't care what people say, you can't trust a hunting dog.
To be fair, rotts aren't hunting dogs (they're herding dogs), and that looks like a somewhat poorly bred rott. He looks like a mix.

why? because i don't trust a dog that through breading was meant to kill? because i don't that kind of fucking thing running around my street? because some fucking prick skin head thinks he that little bit harder with a hunting dog? (not you NS) lol fuck no.
No, it was the "kill one if you had a chance" comment.
Only a fool trusts a dog of ANY breed completely. Yeah, Pits and Rotties are popular among the kind of people that shouldn't own them and that's bad for the breeds. But if you read the guidelines for the breed standard, any sign of aggression is HIGHLY negative. Don't malign the breed, place the blame on the shithead owners that breed intentionally for aggressive tendencies because they have small cocks.
yeah, matbe that was a little strong. put it this way. if one as so much as looked funny as some i care about i'd snap it's fucking neck then go for a few pints and a pizza.
Oh, I agree. I'm instantly on my guard if I see one and my family or dog is around, and yes, I'd kill one in a heartbeat if necessary. My wife grew up with a few of them and she and her siblings laid all over them, yanked ears, tails, etc., with no problems. Anyone that came over the fence was in for it, but they never had any problems.

He's right about Rotties being herding dogs, and that dog looks more like a Dobie than a Rott. But, I'm not going to tell you what your paperwork says.
The thing is, ANY breed can do that. My friend used to breed Basset Hounds, and one of them went nutsoid on him and tried to kill him. Ok, it wasn't much of a threat, but he still had to beat it down with a 2x4.
Heh, I was out walking Moose with my little girl when he was a puppy and we got attacked by a mad chihuahua. He was running hell bent for leather down the street straight for Moose. I booted the fucking thing, he rolled about four times and took off back from whence he came. His asshead owner saw the whole thing, never said a word. Douchebag.
Yea, what pisses me off the most about this whole thing is that my friend has never said a word of apology, or acted in any way like he felt responsible for what happened.
Of course I should have expected as much I guess -- if he was responsible for his dog, it wouldn't have happened in the first place.
Metzger was fine last night. When we got him home, we cleaned his spots with some betadine/water solution and took his collar off. He hasn't done much but sleep since we got home, and nuzzle us for some scratches.
After we cleaned him off, there was still some of the betadine wet on his neck, but no blood as far as we could tell.
He didn't want to go out last night to use the bathroom or anything.
This morning I put his collar on to take him out, and not long after I brought him back in I noticed a few drops of blood on the carpet where he laid down.
I'm taking him in to the vet at 1 to get him checked out. I was planning on doing this anyway, just to make sure it didn't get infected or anything.
When it first happened I didn't want to pass any judgment on my friend or his dog (I'm pretty slow to anger anyway) but the more I think about it the more pissed I get at J for being so fucking irresponsible.
When the last, big attack happened, everybody was immediately around the dogs trying to break it up, except for him. He just stood there for like half a minute, doing nothing. It may have just been because he was shocked, but that's no excuse IMO.

The crushing damage is what you have to worry about, the punctures will be minor.
And your "friend" needs his ass kicked.
