hammeron/pulloff. its when you strum a note and then *hammer on* the next higher note without strumming. pulloff is the same in reverse.

you cant do it with just any note though. if you look closely you can see that there are 3 different kinds of notes; starpower (duh), normal note and 'open' note - the open notes are the same as normal notes but without the black border at the top. these are the ones that can (and should) be hammered on or pulled off.
try Shout at the Devil on medium in practicemode, the lick during the chorus is all hammeron

so I started playing medium...I kind of get what you mean about it being easier with more notes because it feel natural to strum at those moments.

anyway..about the hopo...am I right that you can basically tape down the green button and just worry about strumming on those parts since it is the highest on the handle anyway?

Only on easy when songs dont have doubles of higher notes.

aye, you can hold down lower notes no problem, unless a chord comes along. then you can only use those 2 or 3 buttons.

The thing I hate the most about hopo is that missing a note in the series kills your sustain so you have to be prepared to strum again if you fuck up. I usually just blast through hopo sets strumming because (95% of the time) I can sync button press and strum before the hopo system plays the note.

How did they do it? Make you hold the previous note until after you transfer?

yup, and for pulloffs you had to have the upcoming notes depressed before releasing the higher one.

the timing also had to be perfect, much stricter than strumming normal notes. sucked

the guitarbreak of Jessica on Hard is also a great way of practicing hopos - its like 24 notes but you only have to strum thrice times.

Short version.

Tear apart said guitar.
Remove strum bar
Theres 4 small smooth plastic spots that 4 small nubs on the strumbar collide with.
Use the SOFT side of a velcro strip on those 4 spots on the body of the guitar.

DO NOT velcro the strumbar itself. You will fuck it up.

Its really easy. Once you pop it open youll see exactly what i mean.

Much.

The "clicking" of the spring buttons is still there, but that damn CLACK CLACK goes away.

I need to rip my new ones apart and do it asap. I havent played since launch because it drives me nuts :(

I'm still waiting for Plug In Baby, fuck that track would rock for this game.

untrue, the name Guitar Hero 80's edition was officially confirmed.

however, if this is the project Neversoft is working on or a new project, is uncertain
