So this is even worse than the Texas school shooting in 1966... =\

Yep, I still think the kids of Columbine had a much better thought out plan though. ( although it didn't work out.)

It sounds like this guy just walked in guns blazing.

31, that's awful :(

if one of those students had been carrying a gun themselves, they might still be alive.

If it's 33, you can count on it.

Nothing should be banned.. guns should be mandatory. Most people are pussies when they know they aren't the only one with a gun so less problems will occur, and when they do occur, it definitely won't be 33 people shot in a school... someone will get his ass early on.

So they say this guy was Asian. The largest massacre in U.S. history and it was done by an Asian. What a gyp...

I feel your sarcasm. But in all honesty, there has been very little information released about this. They don't know much about the whole thing yet...

this will also mean we get to go back over emergency procedures and whatnot where i work and will probably be told, by some real smart administrator to 'keep our eyes and ears open all the time for things' - as if we would not pay attention to anything if they weren't giving us the advice.

I've asked myself if I would sacrifice my own life for students if I had to in terms of dealing with a shooter...hmmm....would you if you were in my position?

I meant to say this threads tells us a lot about people based on their initial reaction. :p

But here is the fucked up part - why the fuck wasn't the school locked down after the first shooting at 7:15 fucking AM? The second shooting started around 9:15, two full hours later. That campus should have been locked down and crawling with cops after the first shooting. Something doesn't make sense here, and someone is going to be hung out to dry if it turns out a decision to lock down the campus was overruled or overlooked after the first shooting two hours before the 29 others were killed. The only thing i can think of now is maybe he was holding them hostage for two hours or so in that other building before he unloaded? Dunno...without further explanation it just seems really odd.

Lolno, you have no obligation. You're a teacher not a bodyguard. As for whether one would or wouldn't, nobody knows until you're put in that position.

there's only so much you can do for someone clinging to life. I really doubt they're sitting around doing nothing for these kids.

According to a member on the Anandtech forums that works with him IRL it isn't the shooter.
