That's probably a good idea. I just love the overwhelming selection at a place like B&N, and I love being able to have just about anything I'm thinking of at my fingertips -- I like to explore for myself.

aannyways, rook ive bought'en stuff from hd before.
i dont like it there cuz their stuff lacks value, imo
ive got tools from everywhere
for ex
-super tough hard steel drill bits from super small , all the way up to 1"--made in england- i got them from some 90 year old guy.
i told him i would drill right and take care of them.
massive box of pliers and cutters-made in germany -they can sut through all the cheap screws home depot carries!- got them from a garage sale - the old guy died ey.
usually i just go to a real lumberyard fo nice cedar or whatnot.
tools i go to an actual tool store.
lawn tools i get higher quality ones from wally mart for 1/2 price of hd
.if i want fixtures or stuff like that i go to an actual fixture place.

I bought a house that needed work, every week we've been hammering away at al the things that need fixin. We made an insane amount of progress since we bought the place in February. It's been fun especially since my wife is helping and eager to learn how to use the power tools.
We do however tend to go over budget every month on projects, it's not a big deal, but I would like to see our "refinish the Kitchen savings pot" continue to go up, instead of down due to other renovations...
I took many many before durring and after shots so we can look back on all the hard work while we are sipping frozen drinks on the back deck I havn't built yet :icon32:

nope, i did read your reply, and it was a good one, and i was going to respond to it.
but before i could, i noticed that this had been moved to the void.
in no small part due to the back and forth between riddla and lawl joining in, but you were the one who originally trolled the thread to begin with.
so -- so much for the topic.

Have you ever used any Dewalt power tools? They are some of the best, IMO, and you can find lots of them at the Depot.
Like I said, I prefer buying at local hardware stores, and I did that in my new town after I moved in. But the local shop closed down a few months after Home Depot and Lowes moved in, and they were the only choices I was left with.
I refuse to shop at Wal Mart though. Sometimes I have to go there to buy beer and food when we go camping, because it's the only place around, and I hate having to do it even then. They're not good to their own people, or communities.
