Btw, played as GDI a couple of rounds. Weapon sounds are better, there is more "oompf" in the weapons. I like the rocket launcher, it's ok. The GDI vehicles handle a little better too.

The sounds are probably the suckiest I've heard in a game in a long time, not only that, the sound code is insane... I'll be getting shot and it will sound like its from 2 feet away, I'll turn around and I'm being shot at from half way over the map...? Its almost like they took the easy way out and just had a "near" and a "far" sound, and just swapthem out at X distance. Easier on netcode but damn you cant hear shit. I don't even think they lower the volume.

Plus some the weapons just sound wrong. Why should foot steps be louders and have more omph that firing a weapon...? :dork:

Beta really is the word for this, shame its out in 2 weeks, none of this will be fixed for launch.

And a bullet hitting the ground near you makes a bigger sound than a bullet actually hitting you, which is the opposite of how it should be.

Indeed, its a little confusing to play at times. I'm sure they will sort that soon.

Shame innit. And they've done fucking stellar work with it, but when you start with a dog to begin with...
I'm prolly buying the game, if only because wolf was free and would have been worth paying for.

dunno what all you girls are crying about, im having a blast, and its a beta for christ sake. 800mb, and probably a shitload of gfx dumbed down to make it more compatible for the 60k beta testers.

A perfect example is this video.

I'm having fun too. The only main disappointment is the vehicles, which are too much Q4-ish to be honest.

I don't care much about the graphics, it's a MP game, who cares about fancy effects?

Its funny to hear all the battlefield guys complain about the jumping. They don't realize that is what quake is...

i rolf when i come across bf'rs. im jumping over to this guy and he is laying down in the middle of the road to get a better shot :olo:
