The only positive thing I can say about that whole article is that his child will NOT grow up into an authoritarian follower....which is the biggest problem in America and the reason this shit continues. There are plenty of stories like this these days. I don’t know how many I’ve read where the writer describes some breach of civil liberties by employees of the state, then wraps it all up with a dire warning about what we as a nation are becoming, and how if we don’t put an end to it now, then we’re in for heaps of trouble. Well you know what? Nothing’s going to stop the inevitable. There’s no policy change that’s going to save us. There’s no election that’s going to put a halt to the onslaught of tyranny. It’s here already – this country has changed for the worse and will continue to change for the worse. There is now a division between the citizenry and the state. When that state is used as a tool against me, there is no longer any reason why I should owe any allegiance to that state.
And that’s the first thing that child of ours is going to learn.

This is hard to watch.

That may be the most egregious abuse of police power I've seen posted here yet. I'm sure any of the cops would just say that they were doing their jobs too.

I didn't know it was common practice to video tape a strip search. Even though I can see the need to do so, it just seems a bit odd in my opinion.
The simple fact the cop's camera was off, kind of seems fishy... but the more I think about it, the whole thing is fucked.

Re: POLICE STATE THREAD!!!...
really not surprising. I've been arrested 3 times now, and if you fuck with them(in their eyes) they don't put up with your shit. Their only problem was men being there.R00k wrote:This is hard to watch.

She hands over a wrong id...I wouldn't be surprised if she got snippy with him. Perhaps they shouldn't have done what they did, but they did it and recorded it for a reason. I wouldn't be surprised if she was being shitty with them and resisting things they asked her to do. In fact you can see her fighting them and resisting in the video. I've had to grab my ankles and lift my sack twice and you better believe if I had resisted they would have forcibly removed clothing and worse.
This one is the same way. Yeah, the cop was a dick, but the dude/dudette needs to just apologize and GIVE HIM THE FUCKING ID. The whole time the dude/tte was being hostile and talking back to the cop instead of just fucking doing it. Once again, was tasering necessary? At the point it got to, I think so. The cop gave a pretty direct order and the guy/girl was hostile back and didn't comply. Of course, if the cop wasn't a dickhead it probably wouldn't have come to that, but the suspect put themselves in that situation too. PROTIP: you are usually being recorded by cruiser video and cop mic when you are pulled over, if you think they are fucking with you and you get arrested, you can file to get the tape. Don't get hostile and argumentative with them. They deal with a lot of shitheads everyday and won't fuck around.seremtan wrote:cop has zero patience, starts tasering

Re: POLICE STATE THREAD!!!...
Surely you're not serious. Even if this was a by-the-books strip search for some unknown reason, they violated their own policy on the search.EtUL wrote:...
But it wasn't a strip search, according to the police. And they are right. A strip search doesn't entail leaving a woman naked in a cell for 6 hours. It sounds like some kind of personal punishment or something to me.
Either way, they were wrong.
But what's with this woman's husband? He seems so calm and objective about it. If it was my wife and I saw that tape, I wouldn't be claiming that I'm suing the police so that it won't happen to someone else. I'd be claiming I'm suing them as the only alternative to killing a mother fucker. It's unbelievable that could happen in this country, and still there are people claiming that, if the police did it, then there must have been some justification for it.
Fucking ridiculous.
Re: POLICE STATE THREAD!!!...
Like I said, they were wrong to have men in there, but the thing is, we only see parts of the video.
If she was resisting women officer like she resisted on camera, they might have called them in for help. Also, she's lucky they gave her her own cell. The rest of us get a cell with a lot of other people in it, just as cold. Naked? No. But once again, I didn't fuck with them. She's lucky they didn't put her in the chair. You don't know the whole story either, this is from a LOCAL NEWS STATION and one side. Never is the police's side mentioned. I'm not a fan of cops, but I think I may hate local news worse. She claims she was left in a cell naked for 6 hours but who fucking knows. I'd make a lot of claims too if I was filing a suit, just to try and force a settlement. If she was naked most likely they didn't give her the clothing back after she fought with them but they kept her in holding till the morning before they found if they were going to dress her out or if someone was going to bail her out.
In both of those situations in my post: Yes: they sucked for the people. But there's more to it I think, and both looked like they fought the cops, which you don't do. I'm trying to show you what's coming from their side. Once again, I'm not speaking as an armchair conservative. I've been in 3 times myself, and I'm not proud of it. I've changed now.

Reviewing both the videos again:
With the strip search of the woman: There was the potential of a lot wrong with it, but if you don't have all the facts you don't know. You could think of this story two ways.
Way 1, loving sister is involved in a domestic where he cousin attacked her for no reason as she was an innocent angel. She accidentally hands the officer that is deployed to the scene her dead sister's id that she keeps in her purse as a reminder. The officer is skeptical of her excuse and takes her in on the domestic call because of it. During a search the cops abuse her rights and strip search her in front of men then leave her naked in a cell.
Way 2: Officer arrives on the scene of a domestic. Subject involved in the domestic hands officer a fake id. Officer questions the explanation and takes the suspect in. Suspect is hostile and resists police order. Suspect must be restrained for a search of her persons. Etc. etc.
It's not completely black and white.
As for the video of the person pulled over for speeding, I think the officer will and should be cleared of any wrongdoing. The person in the car was a complete moron, and even on the transcript of the tape shows defiance to the cops. The passenger tells them to just give the cop the license and they say "No." I assume this was said to the passenger, but from the cops view he's asked for it twice now and the driver has said No. The driver is then increasingly hostile and ignores the cops orders. I don't care how in the right you think you are, you fucking obey the cops orders. I think he was probably keeping the suspect on the ground and waiting for backup because I'll bet that's the protocol for whenever a taser is used.
The nude strip search...yeah, theres the potential for a lot wrong. But many people are treated way worse in jail and no one has cared yet.
The pull over situation. I'm with the cop.
Once again I'll re-iterate too. I don't like cops and I'm definitely not on their side. I'm just going by what they would go on from the evidence.

Of course, where you guys are getting it totally wrong is the way that all of you now accept police beatings as normal TV entertainment, which means the Lizard Men have already won.
Re: POLICE STATE THREAD!!!...
I think your problem with these rook, is that you are looking at the situations as a decent human being.
What you should realize is that police spend every day not dealing with decent human beings, but with the scum of our society. That means, that when they encounter resistance with simple requests (Give me you license and insurance, Go to the back of your car and place your hands on the trunk) they deal with the resistor the same be it a guy on the way to the mall or a junkie. We'll see what happens with that strip search case, as I'm not sure the exact laws on search. I'll bet that video with the person being pulled over and tased amounts to nothing.
The bottom line is, the law is usually there to protect the enforcers and usually they don't enforce the full extent unless you give them a reason.
Both times I was searched in jail it was because I had a possession of marijuana and possession of paraphernalia charge. I could have resisted the search and been a pain and screamed over and over WHY ARE YOU DOIN THIS?!?!! but I didn't. I walked into the other room. The first time he explained it to me, the second time he just said "you know the drill". I dropped my pants, dropped my boxers, bent over and spread my ass cheeks. I could have had shit hidden, but because I didn't fight them they didn't do a full strip down of my person. Only pats and an ass crack search.
Once you're in the system you're in their hands, you cease being a decent citizen and human being. You have to understand that. Some situations are unfortunate, but if you treat everyone like that suddenly there are a LOT of problems.
