Some of the places in my area allow you to pump first if you use the units nearest to the store.

I wish i could see one in real life. That's just out of hand. Does this have a lift kit on it on top of being unnecessarily large?

1993 VW Corrado SLC, Gas was at $1.30/L.
85L fuel tank, ( including reserve ), and i get 8.9L/100km on the highway, and 10.5L/100km in the city.

I've seen one. That one is done up to appear more casual but the target market for that truck is heavy construction and industry. It's basically a semi but scaled down.

My car has a 60 litre tank and diesel currently costs around £1.16 per litre here ($2.27), so that's £69.6 per tank ($136.42).

As I pointed out in the other thread, here in the Netherlands we pay about €1.50 per liter, which is about 5,68 per gallon which, with the current conversion rates, translates to about $8,97 per gallon. No kidding.

Wow... I don't drive around that much. I can usually make $50 last 2 weeks. ((Probably $60 when I fill it up on Friday)) I think gas is... maybe $3.20-$3.25/gallon.

Yeah so next time when you whine about high gas prices, think of the Europeans first

I have no idea, which is why I'm asking, but don't the Euros have a better mass transit system in place?
Basically, if I don't have a car, I can't get to work. I could walk to the train and take it to Newark (yuck), but then I'd have to take a $50 cab ride to get up to work (and another $50 cab ride back to the train at 1 am).

Jersey :\
Never had the pleasure to travel through Jersey all too much...I used to live in Staten Island though. Every time I go back to visit I couldn't imagine not having a vehicle. If I ventured into Manhattan or Brooklyn I might hoof it but... only because parking in the city is ridiculous. Double parked one way streets

Yes we do. Can't be helped that the giant car companies systematically destroyed similar initiatives in the US back in the day... just to increase their own production.
Even when you rush it, a mass transit system takes years and years to build - and the oil prices are just gonna keep on rising in the meantime because production has peaked and demand is soaring. So you guys are pretty much fucked.

we were through Oregon last year, and that's how it was, you were not allowed to pump your own gas, and we were constantly warned away as we walked over to the pump, being dumb californians.
