Older Felt 35 I think it was. It was also an aluminum frame and the components were Tiagra, not 105's

As far as chain or seat stays go, I think a frame itself should be all one material, hybrid aluminum/carbon frames look and feel weird. They used to also have problems with the joints where they meet, I'm guessing they've improved those by now. From a price standpoint, I would either go for cheaper all aluminum or spend the extra money for all carbon, but the price/value for a hybrid aluminum/carbon just doesn't seem worth it.

I wouldn't mind getting a fixie sometime soonish, followed by a much better (and expensive) roadie in the distant future.

I'm confused. Are we still talking about the TT? Are you saying you have a mk2 TT with at mk1 TT interior? Or are you talking about the Corrado? I'm lost.

The corrado was offered with a Mk2 interior, then it came with the Audi interior.
mine has the Audi interior.

you're partially right. most of the time it's better to have a solid alu frame rather than the marketting gimmicks of some manufacturers with carbon rears and a hybrid carbon fork; however, if you've never ridden a cannondale six13 carbon/alu frame you'll have to rethink that line of thought.

definitely made the right choice from tiagra to ultegra though. nobody really 'needs' better than ultegra. in my case it happened to come with the frame. i would have kept the ultegra my previous bike had. but what can i say, i like to pose solo

1.6 Isuzu Impulse engine with a 0.6bar turbo, DOHC 16-valve. 2.25" single pipe

Will be quicker when I get the ignition coils uprated with some MSD packs, get a dump valve installed, switch to fully synth 10/60 and should stop faster when I've sourced and fitted some Wilwoods on bigger rotors.

I'm considering buying a VW Caravelle and trailer so that I can hillclimb.

On the wishlist of things that are a lot further away from happening:
Replace shocks with stiffer adjustable units
Replace intake piping with metal equivalents
Replace air filter with a K&N
Uprate to 3-bar injectors with a new MAP sensor
Switch out ECU and add O2 sensor for a closed loop
Chip + up boost to 0.9bar
Momo seats + harness

Waaaaaay off in the distance is a Garrett turbo upgrade. Too expensive at the moment would be 1.5k for the parts alone.

I also reckon the paint is going to start pinking in the next 12 months (it looks way worse in the photo than it does in person, but it'll head that way eventually). More expense

I was going to write something about the bike here but you guys don't give a shit anyway.

TBH boost increase is the only real way to get power per £ in a 1.6. All the other things you mention only really give minimal increase in BHP, only real change would be throttle response and the sound.
The only problem with boost increase is you can do just the windmill and it'll run fine for a few months then blow up. To do it right you need to tuffen up the cylinder head, gasket and bolts etc which really costs.

Then there's stopping...

me? no. still rockin the '02 WRX wagon. friend of mine just got a cobalt SS though. last year they made the supercharger model. the thing is freakishly fast. i had another friend who owned an SS when they first came out and it wasn't nearly as quick as this thing. oh, and in retaliation my friend who first used to own a cobalt SS got a new mazda Speed3. havnt ridden in it yet but apparently the thing pulls. hard.

experience wise i can still run circles around them based on familiarity with the car. my WRX his pretty much a turd now though

I'm looking to get one of these soon, i hope.
