Geert Wilders
Re: Geert Wilders
No, he means that some people get emotional about stuff and this reflects in the way they (would) vote - but when some time has passed and people have collectively calmed down about whatever upset them, their voting behavior is suddenly very different.
IE Wilders would pwnz0r elections if they were held now, according to the polls - but unfortunately for him he's gotta wait a bit before that happens and people will likely have calmed down by then and vote differently. Unless of course he manages to get entangled in another scandal by that time.
Would like to add that i think Fortuyn is a dubious example of this, iirc the man wasn't exactly leading in the polls but he wasn't doing too shabby either before he was offed - and while he did get a lot of sympathy votes after he was killed, it's also worth wondering how many people recognized the fact that his party (an exotic collection of morons and thugs if i ever saw one) would melt away of infighting and sheer stupidity without his leadership and made this a reason to not vote for him.

Re: Geert Wilders
that doesn't explain 'revocation'
Re: Geert Wilders
He meant it as 'change their mind about whom to vote for', not literally declaring votes illegitimate or something... c'mon now, this ain't Zimbabwe.

Re: Geert Wilders
revocation doesn't mean that
revoke = intrekken
change mind = een verandering van de geest
according to google moon language translator

Re: Geert Wilders
The ones who voted for Fortuyn before, 'revoked' their vote by voting for another party because they changed their mind.
Re: Geert Wilders
no, they changed their mind the second time around. that doesn't revoke their first vote
for the last time: revoke =/= change mind

Enough both of you.
Re: Geert Wilders
revoked by the people themselves, not the state.
