The uric stones reminded me of a visit to the vet center at The Living Desert. The chief vet stated that most of the desert tortoises have within their bladder a single, giant urolith of uric acid crystals.

So, if its any consolation, at least you aren't a turtle.

That top one, that's a bloody big rock there.

Reptiles excrete solid(ish) uric acid as their form of nitrogenous waste - this saves them from having to waste valuable water, so it would make sense that there would be some uric acid crystals stuck in the bladder. Wouldn't be fun if they had to pass it.
