It's a Grado adapter guaranteed not to have any effect on audio quality because it uses the same high-quality wiring as their headphone cables. I saw a lot of people recommending it over the adapter that comes with the 555 because of what andyman linked. You end up with this huge stiff mass (heh heh) hanging off the end of an 1/8" connector. The longer wire based adapter is more flexible and puts less stress on the source jack.

So i side-by-side tested the steelseries and my pair of sennheiser hd380 pro's and I like the steelseries more. Much clearer and especially when loud. The senns just sounded muffled or held back.

Go for Sennheiser. 15 years of personal experience with this brand and never a bad one.

I'd recommend steel series siberia v2 or the sennheiser pc350. If you are looking for something smaller take steelseries h3.
