I can't choose, either. For MP it's a choice between Q3A, RtCW, and BF1942.
For SP, CoD wins, hands down.

Armored Core

I love how you can easily modify your mech to be an unstoppable killing machine. The action was pretty fast paced for a console too.

Hard to name just one... I'll name a few on a couple different systems that I wasted the most time on over the years.

Parsec, side scrolling space shooter on TI-994/A http://www.videogamehouse.net/parsec.html
Loderunner on Apple ][e, C64 players probably remember this one as well
The Bard's Tale series still on Apple ][e
Tetris, dunno how many classes I missed playing this trying to beat roomates' scores. Now playing on IBM compatible 386/20.
Castle Wolfenstein and Spear of Destiny followed by Doom1&2.
Wip3out, best racing game EVER (PS1). EVER! 486 system.
Some Final Fantasy game on PS1
Quake 2 LMCTF
Quake 3 TeamArena and OSP CTF
and now, GuildWars

Quake III for PC, as for console, I'd have to say... Kiwi Kraze for NES, used to play that 24/7 as a kid lol, same with megaman 4

Damn, I forgot about Jumpman, also. And I've just found a couple of sites with Windows ports of the original game. Schweet!
