Thus far the iPad has worked perfectly for everything I bought it for, and it has worked great for things I didn't plan on using it for when I bought it.

well i can't quite understand what one need usb for with a ipad.. all data exchange i need i can do over wifi..

not sure why someone wants to put a mobile device on a leash with usb stuff dangling from it..

i already find most of the dock connector (which is usb) stuff apple sells pretty useless..


i can only agree with tnf.. if you opt for an ipad or any other gadget you know what you get and what you don't get.. so ranting about it is pretty useless.. as for a quality tablet device.. there is nothing else out there in that price range..

It is exactly as I said earlier, the fanbois will simply refuse to approach this discussion in a rational manner. Full disclosure: I prefer Apple products (I particularly like Macintoshes over PC) but if shit is shit I'll call it shit.

If you bitch that the iPad has no USB (when those who complain about no USB would obviously want it...particularly on a device with only 16 GB, 32 GB, or 64 GB of on-board storage) the fanbois will say "you don't need USB". If you mention that the iPad doesn't support Flash, they'll say "Flash is shit". If you say you want a camera to do video chat, they'll say "you don't need video chat". Hell, I have no doubt that if it didn't play videos (yes I know it plays videos) then they'd tell you that you don't need to watch videos.

For the fanbois, the irrational justifications for buying an inadequate product never ends (exactly like talking to bible-thumpers) and if you destroy every single argument they present for buying one then they'll just say "haters gonna hate".

iTunes for PC has indeed always been a steaming pile of unreliable shit. For the life of me i can't figure out why they are incapable of giving us a version that does not periodically destroy your ipod content just for laffs. And all the wildly illogical errors i got over the years... you could write a book on them. A very boring, very frustrating book.

well fisty.. if you would actualy have read what i wrote you would have notice that I wrote "i" not you, not him.. i don't know what your needs are...

if yo want to video chat don't get an ipad, if you want to have flash don't get any mobile device..because flash is crap on pretty much all of them..

well and if 64gb storage is not enough for you, then ok don't get an ipad either.. i personaly never had the need for that kind of space.. i wouldn't even know what to make with it.. the pc is already riddled with tb of crap where most of the time i didnt even know x or y is still there.. on a mobile device i can't see the urge to have everything on it .. why should i.. ?

what do you need an usb connector for? exactly? do you need more space on the device? why.. what kind of data do you need always with you.. ? since all ipad have at lest wlan i don't see the need for a cable solution.. on any mobile device.. i don't want to connect a usb 3,5 hdd to my mobile device.. then its not mobile anymore.. ?! why get a mobile device in the first place if you want to keep it connected to a wire?

there must be a reason you want to have feature x or feature y.. but i don't get it that you moan about the ipad..

its like looking at a roadster and moaning that is has only 2 seats because you need 6 to fit your hole family into it.. well apprently your looking at the wrong stuff pal.. and i don't get it why it should bother somebody to get an ipad if thats it what he needs.. you need something different.. thats ok..

Except that in January you'll no longer need to root to get Froyo and the marketplace since it'll be an official update.

It is a cool device, but it pales in comparison to a true e-display.

mac...if you've never heard of a "portable USB hard drive" before (not just "external hard drive"...but portable) that's not my fault. With a portable drive you a still "portable". As to overall USB connectivity, if you don't have need to use a USB flash drive then you won't understand why people do.

If you want an iPad, then get an iPad. All I'm saying is that you want a device that does what the iPad does, you can find cheaper, more robust alternatives and you'll be just as happy with those (if not more) regardless if whether or not Steve Jobs approves of your decision.

And regarding Flash...it doesn't matter what you think of Flash or if you don't like how it's implemented...a very large chunk of the internet is Flash-based and your feelings about it won't change that fact.
