hmm, just checked my bell page and I am still listed "unlimited usage" in my account.

They could lose an 11 year customer if that goes to 25gb in march.

To whom? Unless you live in one of the few places that have independent ISPs that have their own infrastructure laid, you're using Bell or Rogers' lines for internet. And they're both on board UBB, cable will be switching over in the summer.

Bell called the house today asking if we where happy with their sat service and tried to make a trump offer to get us to sign up with phone and internet as well.

When we declined, they asked for a reason, "UBB" we replied.

"Oh, Alright, Glad to hear you're happy with the TV service! Sorry for bothering you" Said the woman on the phone.

Seems like they are getting that reason alot.

You probably live in the middle of nowhere and they forgot about you. Remember when IGN forgot they were hosting Q3W and we were ad-free for the longest time? Good times.

I pay $60/month (including phone line rental) for unlimited.

Is that TPG's ADSL2+ Unlimited? If so, what's their service like these days? I heard nothing but complaints from a friend on TPG, but that was well over 5 years ago. If not, can I ask who you're with? I've actually been thinking about switching ISPs recently [still on iiNet].

Yeah that's with TPG. Never had a single problem with them ever and I've been using them for ages. Highly recommended imo.

Heh. I did a similar calculation back in the day when we first had cable internet here. At one point it was so agonizingly slow that jumping on my bike and riding it to the office of my ISP (a 30 minute bike ride), burning a 700MB CD-R and biking back home gave me a slightly higher bitrate than my cable connection would.

That's more than double of what I pay for 20 Mbit + free landline calls. Yay, Northern hemisphere?

@ ^misantropia^ and MKJ =>

Srs?
I'm on Ziggo "Alles-in-1 Plus" (internet, digi-tv and phone) for EUR 50.
Sweet download speed (3.4 MB/s).

I don't need the phone.
Do you have samish download speeds, and if so, what are your providers?
