Re: Walking Dead Season 2
Last episode had some brilliant fan service in the last 10 minutes.
Re: Walking Dead Season 2
good episode. shit got shook up
Re: Walking Dead Season 2
What the fuck, how did i miss that? Is there an episode 13 or something?
I also missed how Shane became a zombie btw, is there some sort of explanation for that? Did he get bitten at a certain point?
It appears i should pay more attention to this show when i watch it.... I blame it's tendency to deliver very uninteresting scenes, my mind just disconnects at times.

I guess, they were trying to show that whatever it is that turns you, has already infected them (they never say why or how afaik) and simply dying in any way, will change you. At least that's what i got out of it.

Bang on both counts Memph. That character is one of the strongest in the comics, and her introduction shows that they're going to try and keep quite close to her depiction in the comics. And that building means that the best story arc in the comics is very likely to happen. She has an incredibly bad-assed part in said story, although I suspect they're going to have to tame it down a LOT for TV.

Re: Walking Dead Season 2
I'm personally disappointed they killed Dale so early and they also downplayed his relationship with Andrea and her sister in the TV series. It was less father/daughters in the comics and more old guy doing young women. Added an extra creepy element to it, kind of a sugar-daddy vibe.
I do wonder if they're going to recycle his comic book death and apply it to another character though, as it's one of the better main character deaths in the comics.

Yup, there is a 13th. It's then Rick says he was (apparently) told at the CDC by scientist guy that they already carry it, though far as I recall, we weren't shown this exchange.

At first I was like "you turn when you die, so what? just make a bullet to the head part of the grieving ritual."
I totally forgot the religious implications, the news that they are all infected, would have on their morale.

Re: Walking Dead Season 2
This show sucks.
Why dont we drive around and deplete all our ammo, let two people die and then leave..instead of just leaving when you see 300 walkers coming from a half mile away. Then that dipshit who pulled the RV up to the barn, then parked it..then looked out the door...no big deal. Sharpshooters hanging out the window in moving car headshot after headshot.
Loved the dramatic barn burning farm abandoning music, I'm really going to miss that place...entire season shot in 1 location, I was hoping for another 13 eps at the farm...rofl.
I cant stop watching this trainwreck, I seriously hope everyone dies except Daryl.

Not to mention Grandpa with his trusty never-need-reload shotgun and their ability to hit headshot after headshot from a moving, bouncing vehicle. Then later on the zombies were going down from abdomen shots. Good call on the blonde being able to carry a heavy carryall of guns while running from night to mid day the next day. That was brilliant
.
They really really need to get someone to choreograph the infected. There's a great bit in the 28 Weeks Later behind the scenes where they show how they prime all the zombies before shooting them so they have an overall homogeneous character, in Walking Dead they just do whatever the fuck they want. Some amble, some jog, some flail their arms and some are inanimate, some feel pain and others don't, some show signs of intelligence where as others are autonomic. it's a fucking shambles.

Balsa wood fence.
There was a nice bit where they broke a barbed wire fence and all tripped over it. That was probably the best bit in the finale.
Also fuck them for killing Bill, he and Daryl were the only ones worth any salt.

u guys whine too much. It's a great show - be grateful you are alive to watch it.
Re: Walking Dead Season 2
It’s more than a bit of a mess and i agree completely when people get pissed that the show has no clear rules of behaviour for the zombies and how the story has annoyingly large gaps of logic and how it progresses way too slowly compared to the comic.
There’s occasional bits of awesome and it’s totally cool that there’s a show about zombies that’s doing well, but to the zombie purist this show is a painful affair. There’s just too many mistakes, too much sloppiness, not nearly enough grittiness - and what bothers me most of all is that it’s far too much of a soap opera.
Still… it’s a show about zombies and i loves me some zombies - so i’ll keep watching. And whining because it apparently won’t ever live up to my expectations.

Well in all fairness what works in comics doesn't always work for tv or movies and verse visa.Ryoki wrote:...it progresses way too slowly compared to the comic.

And because consumers are such spoiled brats I have no doubt whatsoever that if the show had more grit that people would complain that there's too much. Or at the very least the action and intensity would be so constant that it became boring.

To be honest, comparing the pace of the show to the pace of the comics will lead you a cropper. The comics generally go "One trade paperback slow, one with lots of action", and as TPBs are collections of 6 or so comics, the series is following the comics quite closely in terms of pace.

I agree with all of that except for the show sucking. Carl's so fucking stupid I'm actually hoping he gets brutally rent asunder and devoured alive by zombies.shaft wrote:This show sucks.

lol they're mindless zombies and you want them choreographed? Re: Walking Dead Season 2
in fact:
obviously it's a different type of infection, but the walkers in Walking Dead just have no direction what so ever. They're shit.
I have no defence as to why I watch this garbage, I think because maybe I want it to be better than it is because they're fucking up such a good concept that no one else will be able to get IP on again for fear of copying it, even though they blatantly rip off L4D repeatedly and shamelessly.

One of my favourite scenes from any film ever. This is on par with the helicopter bit in Apocalypse Now:
Pity the rest of the film is shit but oh well.
