I like em. :)

your camera might not be able to do this if it's as shitty as mine but if you can do long exposures try setting up very faint lights behind objects when doing your light show and you'll get multicolored glows everywhere which looks cool (if you use multicolored led's for example) Also, try something that's not a circle once in awhile, they're more impressive :p

love the other shots tho!

no wonder it looks terrible. I'm not trying to be a dick, it's just that I am completely missing the point of that retarded filter used improperly.

I can set my shutter speed to 8 seconds.. it's the longest it can be open.
Still not understanding what ya mean Kracus.. do you have a photo sample or something similar as a reference picture?

What kind of camera are you using? If its a DSLR you should be able to go longer than that - if not in one of the AV, TV, etc., modes then with bulb mode.

I strongly recommend reading this site.

http://tutorials20.com/misc/long-exposure-basic/

Fantastic info in there.

The above pics are some examples of what I mean by placing colored lights, preferably faint ones because the exposure will create the effect of them being brighter than they are creating these types of images. They come out looking fantastic and I'm guessing could be as simple to setup as going to a dollar store and buying multicolored transparent sheets and just placing them over a faint lightsource. Shit an iphone probably has an app for that :)

if not... I should make one...

Ha! That guy can make some awesome lightbeams with just the flashlight.. great link, thanks.
And now i get what you mean with different fixed lights.. the objects become so much cooler.
Ok.. i got to try this tonight.. thx for the tips Kracus, very helpful.

It's a shame really.. with only 8 seconds max for shutter speed, would have been nice with 30 seconds. Oh the things i could do.. :smirk:

Anyway, the weather seems to be better later this afternoon, so i will try and do some tips from you Kracus.

wow dude, I like those, seriously they're quite nice and I know how it sucks I think I may have the same camera you have. Mine is so broken it's held together by elastics but seriously those are pretty neat shots :)

Cool, thx.
The camera i have is a Fujifilm Finepix s3200 and altough it got most of the features a DSLR have (and some a dslr dosent have like 24x zoom) i still wish i had 30 sec shutter speed, faster shooting (0.7 sec between shots if i don't choose continues shooting, then it can take 40 shots in a row), raw original and a flashshoe.

But i already been thinking about getting the HS20 EXR with some neat features like 30x zoom, CMOS sensor, tilt-LCD, high speed movie capture, ISO up to 12800, manual zoom and focus and raw format. It's still a bit pricey.. around £350 / $450. When i'm better at photographing, i'll buy that one.

Ok, i tried to do some lighteffects with different sources last night, and it was so shitty that i deleted all of the photos.
I think my camera is not up to the task really, both with ISO and the shutterspeed.. need atleast 30 seconds, mine can handle 8 second.. it's way to low.

So that's out of the picture now... next thing is forest and mirrors :D

Felt that i reached the camera's limitations.. went out and bought the HS20EXR.

Will update with some awesome shots.

Photos taken with the HS20 EXR (brutally awesome).
Although it shoots beautiful pictures with rich color and great exposure.. i'm going all B/W.
